Is it ironic that the only tinkering that didn't go "Hubnut" was the only one involving removing and replacing a hubnut? I can't imagine Miss HubNut not being on the channel now. There is a huge amount of realism to your channel and not just someone with lots of money driving expensive cars. I've been watching you know for about four years and it is still my favourite one to watch. I always wait until I'm at home, comfortable and with a mug of tea before I watch so I know that disturbances will be few. Please keep it random and real and Happy New Year to you all!

Yes, Ian, as others have said here, Carly is very much appreciated on the channel. Chris on Battery Life who reviews EVs, frequently is joined by his wife Cindy, and while she is not particularly a car nerd, she brings such great insights about the cars they drive. Brilliant- absolutely love when Cindy does a car review. Incidentally, Chris is in Passau in Germany … which, I think, you may have passed through on your way back from the Citroen World gathering (?) in Elly. Anyway… continued good wishes with the channel, to Carly, yourself, Hublets and hound. Lovely warm-hearted, dirty fingernailed entertainment. Go raibh míle maith agat from rainy Dublin. I was staying with my In Laws in the Cotswolds and there was a tractor run round the local area on the 22nd Dec with over 100 tractors, looked a bit cold for those on non cab units!

There were certainly a lot of brilliant videos last year. Rustival and Rustival 2 were a hit with me and my son was able to join me in his car for Rustival 2 as he also passed his driving test last year. The Peugeot 504 video was a favourite of mine as I have a soft spot for these wonderful cars - a friend of mine owned a 504Ti in the ‘80s which was a great car. The live stream was another highlight. Elly is a French farm vehicle. Very handy for that French farmer with a tall hat who needs to transport eggs across a ploughed field. New years day has been great for rail fans as today marks the first day of Rail 200 celebrations with many preserved railways doing a whistle off at 12.00 to mark the start of the anniversary of 200 years of rail travel globally.

Great thing about Spain - the rural bits not Benidorm - is the cars you see still in daily use - they don't rot in the same way as they do here that means (as a downside) is that interesting older cars hold their value unlike here in the UK - no bargains to be found

Just checking - did Miss Hubnut/Little Miss Hubnut take proper lessons or just practice with you? I've "taught" a few people - mostly back in the 90s/early 00s - but I stopped because - frankly - I don't think you can teach people everything they need for a modern driving test - people NEED proper instruction because there are ways you do things and ways you definately DON'T!?

Miss HubNut had some tuition over a decade previously. We both had to work hard to bone up on test knowledge. Lots of info out there. DGN Driving School is very good.

@@HubNut The main thing which seems to have changed since 'out days' is that tests now have quite prescriptive routes - at least our local centre has as, in order to reach the required dual-carriageway, there's really only 1 route they can take! The test is also WAY longer - in my day it was a 45-min slot which included the 'theory test' at the end - as well as the 'eyesight test' at the start AND allowing the instructor time to do his paperwork which meant you'd be driving for a max of 20-25 mins. Now it's twice that so...
