Pretty cool. I ended up making a battery powered lift that utilizes a linear actuator.

I've thought about making this one hydraulic or using a linear actuator.

I hate they dropped this splitter. I wish they would have tried it a little longer.

Hello from WI. Nice work on the log lift. I am 75 yoa and I looking for an electronic log lift. Any help on my project would be great. Drew
@TractorTech5 жыл бұрын
This log lift was an accessory I purchased with the splitter. If you have a hydraulic splitter a hydraulic log lift would be the best. You would need a cylinder, valve and hose. You could use a winch, a cheap one from harbor freight, to make an electric log lift. You would also need a battery and you would have to keep it charged.

Thanks for the video! Where did you get that dolly?
@TractorTech2 жыл бұрын
I got it from Split Second, the splitter manufacturer.

What kind of hookaroon do you demonstrate here? The link where you bought yours doesn't show a yellow German model.

Hello and good evening where did you get the log dolly from
@TractorTech6 жыл бұрын
I got it from the manufacturer direct. You can get one here. www.logsplittersdirect.com/Split-Second-45-0506/p50941.html

A darn shame I can't buy this as a kit to install on a Super Split /DR/ or Power King kinetic splitter
@TractorTech2 жыл бұрын
I don't know why super split doesn't make a log lifter.

We used to call them a picaroon.
@TractorTech6 жыл бұрын
The name varies by region. Here they are actually known as a tie pick. Then like you said pickaroon or hookaroon as I called. I've even seen them spelled different. Mine is German made and technically a Sappie.

What is a "hookeroon"? Gotta get me one of those! Where?

This is the hookaroon I have. www.shforestrysupplies.com/advancedwebpage.aspx?cg=1957&cd=4&SKUTYPE=202&SKUFLD=SKU&DM=1250&WEBID=14206 I'll be doing a video on the hookaroon in the next couple of weeks.

The log lift is $349. www.splitsecondlogsplitter.com/Products/Product-Details/ProductID/10/log-lift If you are thinking about getting a Split Second you are better off getting the Bundle. The bundle is only $300 more than just the splitter. splitsecondlogsplitter.com/Products/Product-Details/ProductID/14

That dolly weights more than the log, and if I have to pick it up and maneuver it, I may as well pick the damn log up myself.
