If you knew that you would die today Saw the face of God and love Would you change? Would you change? If you knew that love can break your heart When you're down so low you cannot fall Would you change? Would you change? How bad, how good does it need to get? How many losses? How much regret? What chain reaction would cause an effect? Makes you turn around Makes you try to explain Makes you forgive and forget Makes you change? Makes you change? If you knew that you would be alone Knowing right, being wrong Would you change? Would you change? If you knew that you would find a truth That brings up pain that can't be soothed Would you change? Would you change? How bad, how good does it need to get? How many losses? How much regret? What chain reaction would cause an effect? Makes you turn around Makes you try to explain Makes you forgive and forget Makes you change? Makes you change? Are you so upright you can't be bent? If it comes to blows Are you so sure you won't be crawling? If not for the good, why risk falling? Why risk falling? If everything you think you know Makes your life unbearable Would you change? Would you change? If you'd broken every rule and vow And hard times come to bring you down Would you change? Would you change? If you knew that you would die today If you saw the face of God and love Would you change? Would you change? Would you change? Would you change? If you saw the face of God and love If you saw the face of God and love Would you change? Would you change?

Not enough music industry accolades & lifetime acheivement awards have been given to this genuine humble singer songwriter. Her instruments being her voice & guitar so simplistic yet phenomenal in its simplicity & purity. Musicians need to take a leaf out of Tracey Chapman's book - a master of incredibly rare unique storytelling ability with a gifted voice.

'Nobel Prize in literature' ... Just look at how stupid that would actually be , leave aside the fact that Dylan winning it was absurd and the committees lame attempt to look 'cool' and inventive ... Dylan like Chapman are musical geniuses but literature? Just no , Dylan' whole song collections doesn't add up to half a novel in terms of word count so just put that in perspective for serious writers of literature

@Chopper well, not to be the cynic but - hearts and minds don't change so quickly. If these people really cared about what's right and fair we wouldn't be in this mess. Time will tell where we end up in all this. One thing is for sure though, there are powerful people with a vested interest in keeping us all divided and at each other's throats. The only question is, will enough people realize it before it's too late.
@tatakainokaizen7140
@tatakainokaizen7140 4 жыл бұрын
@Chopper i've heard that example b4, and i've taken a good look at the privilege argument. I agree in so far as it's important to be thoughtful and consider the position of others. But there is a flaw with the privilege argument. All attributes (height, weight, income level, skin color, etc) come with Both upsides and downsides. The problem comes when one person presumes that people in the 'better off' category must have all upside. And the latter side in the 'worse off' category must have all downside. I feel this is a mistake, and oversimplification of our troubles. I want to play this song for both sides. I don't want just white people to think about how they could do things differently. In the black community we must learn to counteract the self-hate in our hearts. Learn to Love ourselves enough to research what's destroying our minds and bodies - to eat better, live better, and be better as a people. We got into this mess together. The only way out is for each side to really embrace and understand ourselves and our role in these issues. Really learn what each side has to offer, and cultivate those good things, minimize the downsides and forge a stronger unified country. That's my dream anyway.

C'mon Rhino, How do you have 657,300+ subscribers and only 5,300+ views on this awesome song. It's on HBO DVD's and to top it all off it's Tracy. You need to promote good music a little better. This song deserves much more views and publication. If anything this world needs more inspiring music like this. And sadly it's up to the record companies to get it out there.

I used to wanna be like this woman when I was a kid, I used to write songs with her in mind...I never really hit high notes so people thought I should do more all the time... Of course I could never be like Tracy, but I wish they could hear how she inspired me...🥲...I shouldn't wish I didn't change, cuz everything in life is going to be alright, but this woman was an inspiration to me growing up... Some of her songs should be anthems, some of them traditional songs... This woman was one of the first singers who made me think, her notes had a frequency so hard to ignore... Because of her, if the lyrics don't make sense, I don't want the song ... This lady was like a teacher to me with emotions... She still moves my soul...😭

Different parts of this song created epiphanies in different parts of my life. I owe this woman thanks for at least three excellent pivots. 1.). When everything you think you know, makes you your life unbearable, would you change? 2007 (This was HUGE) 2.). Are you so upright that you can’t defend if it comes to blows? 2020 3.)how bad, how good does it need to get? How many losses how much regret? 2022
