Forgive me for perhaps overthinking this, but the reason why I find this technique so inspiring is that it forces you to look at the patterns the paper provided to influence the art choices you make. I'm going through a difficult period in my life right now and somehow this method resonated with me to manage what I have been given, to know that the power to find beauty in the now lies with me. Thank you and I'm definitely going to dig out my water color palette out of my cupboard today

Sorry to hear that you are going through difficult times. I hope this activity helps. I find that appreciating the good things in life takes your mind away from the challenges we may be going through, at least for a little while. I wish you all the best! ❤️

I love the way you draw the tangles and fill them with so many different materials. Gives me lots of ideas for cards and journals that I make to sell at a local gallery. I am learning the tangles to also help abstract and stylize my drawings and paintings. I am just learning this and your channel is invaluable to me now.

I painted my watercolor today and plan to follow through with tangles later. My salt bursts are not as brilliant as yours, but I'll give it a try anyway and see what happens. After all, there are no mistakes in zentangles, right?😂

Hi Tracy Anne, in this video you dip a little in how to choose patterns for your tiles and artwork - is there any video referring to this theme to dig deeper? You mention the ebook by tanglepatterns.com which I use, too. But my problem is, that I have difficulties to transfer the pattern to my tile, choose sizes and to transfer from one pattern to another. Any suggestions for videos? Or can this only be masterd by practise? Maybe you can make a video with this theme in the future? (I send you a PN on Instagram, but I think you didn't see this) Thanks and greetings from Germany! Caia
@TracyAnneWilkinson3 жыл бұрын
Hi Caia, sorry I missed your Instagram message. I use the tangle pattern’ s ebook quite often to choose my tangles. I sometimes think of a theme for example swirls kzbin.info/www/bejne/paCZk4eoqdetaZI then I look for patterns that fit into the theme. I used this technique also in my video bubbles kzbin.info/www/bejne/in2nY5imhr6tqM0. In this video I looked for patterns that would fit into a bubble. Lace is another theme where I looked for patterns that looked lacy kzbin.info/www/bejne/oKXPm5ymrsdkbbs. I keep a sketch book where I experiment with tangles. I might get an idea the test it out in this book. I Practise drawing tangles here too, especially if they are a bit tricky. I often draw around a tile in this book so that I can practise in the same shape as the actual tile I am going to use. Not everything I try is great. When I have played around with tangles and come up with a composition I like I then create my final tile. Making a video to show my process is a good idea. I’ll consider this as a topic for a future video.

@@TracyAnneWilkinson No problem that it took some time. Thank you for your suggestions and ideas, maybe others find this helpful, too! Will watch the videos you recommended and also try to be more patient with me. Looking forward with what video related to this theme you will come up in the future. Another time: Thank you for your great work and support!

@@CaiaGossensWollinspirationen no problem. It is a subject that I see come up from time to time so making a video to address this subject will be helpful to many. Thank you again for your comments.
@TracyAnneWilkinson3 жыл бұрын
Hi again Caia, another video you might find helpful is the one I made on composition. I delve into the principals of design but show how that relates to tangling. I also show the progress of a tile that I created using Facebook prompts and explain why I chose the size, colour placement etc. here is a link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/anPOp4evlsRpg8U
