Yes, it is not essential. There are lots of strategies and styles to fit everyone. I use as confluence.

I've never quit them. I love them. I use all together for day trading. Volume Profile + Orderflow + Price Action. The video is just showing how you can see a same trade setup but in 2 different styles.

It does not have to be Sierra Chart necessarily. I do share a custom template for SC that I used in making and recording the course. But many other platforms like Ninja, EdgePro X, MotiveWave, Jigsaw, ATAS, etc have all the capabilities needed for the orderflow tools. TradingView is very limited still. They did add market profile in a basic form. But you'll definitely want a more complete platform to get tick charts. market depth and footprint.
