I can never get enough Trader Joe's hauls, it's so fun to see what other people love and give it a try. I've added several things to my TJ shopping list while watching this video. Some of my gotta-haves: Fresh Spinach/Cheese Raviolis, frozen seafood, organic meat, TJ's Greek Yogurt (for my homemade Tzatziki sauce, grab some TJ's Middle Eastern Flatbread for dipping) Wines, so many excellent CHEEP cheese options, well- priced tea tree oil and witch hazel. Their frozen chocolate croissants are life-changing and so perfect for any special occasion.Amy, if you have never tried making Pioneer Woman's Salsa recipe you MUST asap! Just leave out the cilantro. It's simple and rivals the best Mexican restaurant salsa I've ever had. I'm also addicted to Mrs Meyers Hand Soaps- Green Apple in the kitchen, Honeysuckle in the bathroom.Cheers!

I just stopped at Trader Joe's on the way home and they were sampling a Toasted Coconut Pancake mix. If you like coconut, you should try it. Not the best for you but I think it will be a great weekend breakfast treat! I also love trader joe's for their frozen fruit for smoothies. So much cheaper than normal grocery stores. The garlic naan bread and tabbouli is also a good small meal that I reach for. So much good stuff there!!!

So fun! A few of my other favorites are the masala sauce (I only add 1/2 the suggested amount of water), the lemon kitchen soap, and the frozen orange chicken (I make mine using the oven directions... so much better!) I also love getting fennel, leeks and haricot verts there, as they are so much cheaper. Finally, here in the South, we can actually find tri-tip at Trader Joe's, where as no other grocers carry it. We're from California, so that is greatly appreciated!

1) Roasted potatoes with peppers and onions (frozen) have become a weekend breakfast staple. I add in extra bell peppers and seasonings and they're one of my favorite things at TJ's now. 2) Mandarin Orange Chicken w/ their veg fried rice. I bulk up the rice w/ steamed broccoli, spinach and scrambled egg. 3) Feta cheese spread is great on the pita chips or veggie sandwiches. Happy eating!

Glad to see this video! I love your lifestyle videos too! most tomato sauces have sugar in the ingredients to contradict the acidity of all the tomatoes. With bigger brands they don't always use the best quality tomato so the sugar is there to mask that which is why it's one of the first ingredients. with better quality sauces the sugar is there to enhanceas opposed to cover up.

Strange thing about cilantro - I used to think the very same thing. The first time I had it I seriously thought the restaurant hadn't rinsed the soap off of their dishes! I hated it for years! I guess my taste buds must have changed, because I don't taste soap at all now; to me, anything with cilantro reminds me of an elegant summer meal on a cruise ship. I love it so much that I grow my own. I LOVE Trader Joe's gluten-free waffles. I will totally second thar recommendation on their bruschetta sauce. My only complaint is once you open it, it goes off REALLY quickly. If you're making it for a party, or a family of four, then no problem, but if you're single, know once you pop that top, you have about five days of refrigerated, and then no more. I have to tell you what I learned about Cilantro- I complained at a Mexican Restaurant that our salsa tasted "soapy". They brought me more and it still tasted soapy. The waitress spoke to the chef and conveyed back to me "it's the Cilantro". I never heard of it, so I thought "I guess I just hate Cilantro". right? Wrong (and this is why I am sharing it with you!) it turns out (now that I am growing my own veggies and herbs) that Cilantro ONLY tastes soapy when the plant goes to seed. It "should" be harvested before going to seed for true flavor. Bam! there you go. It's not you, it's them. Now I enjoy tons of Cilantro in my home made salsa! Pass it on!
@danielt66896 жыл бұрын
No, that's incorrect. IT'S NOT THE FAULT OF THE GROWER OR THE RESTAURANT. It's very well documented that the cause of the soapy taste is genetic. Cilantro contains a certain chemical - an aldehyde - which is responsible for that soapy taste. Most of us cannot detect this chemical, so the cilantro taste fine. However, some people have a different gene in their DNA make up. This gene makes the smell receptors in their nose extra sensitive to this chemical. Unlike us, their noses can pick up smell of this chemical which is why the same salsa (or anything else containing cilantro) will taste fine to some and soapy to others.
@beverlycharles65345 жыл бұрын
@@danielt6689 Agree 100% with Daniels comment. So two people eating the same salsa may have totally diff taste experience...some people are incredibly sensitive to it. I love cilantro in my salsa but others in the household experience a odd soapy taste (at varying degrees). varyingsoap

Some of my favorites are: the lite shredded Mexican and mozzarella cheese (best taste and macros!); sea salt butterscotch caramels; USA made and limited ingredient dog treats - also they have $3 bottles of wine. I mean what else do I need in life? (Ohhh and if you're really treating yourself, their brioche bread makes the best French toast) andddd don't even get me started on their THANKSGIVING CHIPS ❤

My boyfriend gets the apple walks into a bar cereal bars and eats them every day with a yogurt for his breakfast. He loves them. Since we started buying them he was like, "HOW did I ever think nutrigrain bars were good?" lol. I love the fig ones. It's like a fig newton, but in a cereal bar and healthier. Those pita chips are freaking amazing. Kettle corn. Mmm. Also, I've never seen those cinnamon apple snack sticks at my Trader Joe's! I'm gonna have to ask for those next time I go in. I see the same type of thing, but they're veggie and not apple cinnamon. I also detest cilantro with an almighty passion, but I love chips and salsa, so I'll have to try that salsa. Trader Joe's ketchup is the bomb. Omg, the mini chicken tacos. I can't keep them in the house or I'll eat them all. I have no willpower. lol. I need to find that mac and cheese, because that sounds amazing and worth it. Their produce is always so good, and worth the little bit of extra money. (Trader Joe's is a bit more pricey than our local grocery here in Ohio, but it's not too bad. The freshness and healthiness and tastiness of it is worth the extra money.) We LOVE the Paneer (and Chicken) Tika Masala and Garlic Naan when we're in the mood for Indian at home. My favorite snack from there are these cheddar cheese baked sticks. They're amazing when I want something cheesy and crunchy. My daughter loves the "inner peas" to snack on too.

Try their chicken salads in the refrigerated section, about 3 different types. I would buy it years ago, it was like homemade and good on crackers. Be careful not to buy a bunch of snacks. It’s easy to do when it’s better quality, but the point of grocery shopping is to buy all of the food groups. Their dairy, eggs and fruit was a good deal, like others there. They have a nice cheese and yogurt section, try drinkable and seasonal ones. I’m closer to Sprouts which I like alot because of the high meat and chicken, etc. quality. It’s better I have that, plus their bulk bins. It has a deli. It’s more for the cook but has prepared, TJs is more prepared food and full of snacks. I use a combo of Sprouts, Walmart grocery store, Costco, Vons. They all have good deals. Vons has a phone app with discounts. TJs is actually pretty expensive because you are buying lots of little pre-made portions. Years ago I walked out with one bag and it was $80.00. I’m happy with where I go. I have noticed food prices rising a lot..it’s crazy.

Okay one day I grabbed that tomato basil and the employee told me to try the canned Toscano marinara sauce. I don’t typically go for canned sauces but it is 👌🏽

Their gyoza, dried mango, Kung pao chicken, are some of my favs! Loved the video, first one I've seen and I think I'll subscribe 💕

Try their Raisin Rosemary Crisp crackers. It sounds awful, but I swear they are divine. They also have Pumpkin Cranberry Crisps in the Fall that are fantastic and sell out very quickly. If you like fruit, their Caribbean Fruit Floe bars are super packed with actual chunks of tropical fruit and are only 80 calories each. A summer staple at my house. Finally, their organic strawberry lemonade is the best. Great video! I watched all the commercials.

Calories is just energy units in food. You have to count the carbs minus fiber. Also pay attention to what they are made out of and the oils used if any. If they are corn must be organic or they will be GMO.

OMG Trader Joe's have little crispy oatmeal chocolate chip cookies and they are like crack to me. Dunk those little crack nuggets in some milk and damn. So good.
