so main advantage of using options over shares would be not having to use a stop loss, just zero is stop, only buy as much as you're willing to loose and let it play out?
@jgambie319612 сағат бұрын
Absolutely not, definitely have a stop when trading options
@toytechtrader11 сағат бұрын
@jgambie3196 i think you misunderstood what I was saying. If you bought $1000 of options the risk amount would be $1000, so if it goes to zero it is the same as taking a stop out on shares of a stock when risking $1000 at say 4% stop loss. Having zero as stop eliminates any possibility of getting shaken out. Otherwise I see no advantage to trading options over shares.

@@jgambie3196 I think you misunderstood what I was saying, The stop is if option goes to zero, you dont buy more than you are willing to risk. So if you normally risk $1000 per trade with say a 4% stoploss, your entire position size would Be $1000 for options, if it goes to zero that is the whole risk amount. The advantage would be you dont get shaken out, you just let it play. Other than that I dont see much advantage playing options over shares of stock. So many more factors, decay and timing to deal with that just arent a thing when you buy shares.
