Fully agree. Thanks for getting Lee on. Just looked and nothing else that I can see where Lee discusses his trading. Love his approach to talking about trading, very informative and entertaining too. One of the best things about this video is that Lee is genuinely open. I will definitely watch this again.

Richard, that was a great interview. Lee Tanner is a great teacher.! I was lucky that I joined the meetup at Petaluma a few years ago when I moved to the Bay Area, and got to learn a lot from Lee and that group. Thank you Richard for bringing this great interview. CANSLIM lines up with lots of the investing ideals that I have. Be clear that you need to understand this is a strategy that focuses on high growth. So this means it can win big but also lose big.

It just doesn't work for most stocks. The ones where it works are the exception. Most leaders completely give back all of their gains. See Tesla. And you can do it only if you have a really big profit cushion.

@@TraderLion It's very likely a simple answer - the supposedly great strategy won't work ! Outperforming the SPX with simple strategies is almost impossible. Ever wondered why actively managed funds, no matter if long only mutual funds or hedge funds (any asset class, long or short), fail to outperform the S&P 500 by and large.

I think you misunderstood. Lee doesn't typically hold positions for years. Usually just weeks to months if they don't fail quickly within days. The 10 year holds are very rare exceptions.
