It just doesn't work for most stocks. The ones where it works are the exception. Most leaders completely give back all of their gains. See Tesla. And you can do it only if you have a really big profit cushion.

Ever wondered why actively managed funds, no matter if long only mutual funds or hedge funds (any asset class, long or short), fail to outperform the S&P 500 by and large.

I think you misunderstood. Lee doesn't typically hold positions for years. Usually just weeks to months if they don't fail quickly within days. The 10 year holds are very rare exceptions.
