I always seem to think it's because it's something that's "inherently wrong", almost a form of paranoia that the experience of experience is keeping over me - that I shouldn't be doing this, I shouldn't be letting go completely. An internal anxiety towards letting go of the self - it's the egos anxiety towards it's own death. I've learnt to not be afraid - be mindful of the experience that my ego is dying and that one day I (whether that be the body or the universes experience of itself through me), will too. For longer and longer periods I've been able to contemplate or think about the experience of dying - being conscious about that fact that my counciousness will consciously cease to be. Its liberating; face it head on. Let go.

@@illeatthat i totally agree with you upon to the point where you talk about letting go. I’ve had this view on life for about two years, what happens if you let go? What happens if everyone gets enlightened and realise the truth? If everybody lets go, who are then gonna build the society? We’re all part of one and the ego (literally human itself) is the thing driving us forward. If we let go and don’t follow the society, people around you will start looking down at you and you’ll lose social acceptance. Maybe there’s a reason we don’t know the mystery of life? Maybe we’re not supposed to know.

After a cycle of self destruction with alcohol and drugs I finally departed society to stand alone in the wilderness . The masses said poor fool he has lost everything , he has high blood pressure , cholesterol and stage 3 liver disease and so he wanders alone in the wilderness . However being alone in the wilderness was the best that ever happened , now life is simple and uncomplicated peaceful and at oneness with nature . Yes I may have those issues but I am now awake and totally free devoid of the system that almost broke me . No matter your situation you too can be free , just let go and trust in yourself 💚

To the ones that didnt comprehend what alan is speaking, or why he died from alcoholism. He knew trying to search for the meaning of self would be a journey that he could not return from, opening certain areas in the mind is to breach the limit of what we all know as real, and to do that he would need to sacrifice everything hes known as sane or logical. To search for the truth of thought and self is to leave behind everything you once knew as reality. That alone would send any human being to uncharted waters, a place where you can not leave once you get there, he went to that place with the hopes for us to gain clarity to those who seek it

Reminds one of the old “Aerials” song by “System of a Down”. They must have been down with Alan Watts. If one doesn’t know System of a Down and heard that song Aerials, they might enjoy looking it up and Juxtaposing the similarities betwixt the way Alan Watts and Serj Tankian speak of Losing oneself or letting go ;) We are all Alan Watts and it’s an honor to still be here living on. You see, We told us that death should be celebrated and birth happens every second and is likelier than not to happen again for us. Maybe I’m kidding, but I don’t think i am. I love Alan Watts and all the great advice, like not holding on to things. When one loses or lets go of everything (and we mean Everything), one comes to realize that life is full of fascinating potential experiences and opportunities to embrace every day as long as one’s arms aren’t still holding on to the familiar treasures of yesterday. I think the memory is one of life greatest blessings and gifts to be treasured. Its sad and a little disturbing the way society has been hypnotized into thinking they need pictures of everything and videos of every event that takes place, to the point where they need more and more storage space and feel the need to buy bigger data plans which are monthly forever, where their stored memories most likely pile up and create anxiety and guilt and shame because they wrecked overwhelmed thinking about the fact that they’re never going to be able to take the time to revisit ALL of those memories without sacrificing an incredible amount of time that could’ve been utilized for the potential creation of more memories which would have given them a more enriched fulfilling life… Ill always remember that Alan Watts taught me that the mind is not in our heads but we and our heads are in the mind. And the memory is not something that is in our heads but in the mind ( reminds me of the icloud lol) … so we needn’t bother with ever ‘trying’ to remember be cause the memory brings us the information when we need it and takes it back with it out of our heads when we don’t ,so our brains are free to serve us without being congested with traffic. Isn’t it funny how we cant place or find the right word or idea sometimes? But it comes as soon as we stop obsessing about it… analysis paralysis is real lol. Thank you for your time. ❤🤓😎🙃

Western society puts an unhealthy emphasis on radical autonomy and individualism at the expense of social fabric. Social media also puts unhealthy weight on this aspect of being in that people become hyper-individualistic due to their self promoting ways that social media encourages. What I mean is that individualism is good to an extent, but when moderated properly. If not moderated, one will become resentful and envious of others bc they’re wondering how they stack up to someone else and how many things they have relative to those around them. Material items will never be the ultimate happiness as it is just an insatiable desire that can never be quenched. Family, community, and purpose are the most important facets of life and without them, we are nothing but an individual with no real grounded identity.

Almost like if you’re sitting inside a car and you start to believe you are the car and after you get out of the car you die or life ends. But only that phase ends. The only time you are truly you is right when you get into the car, once you start driving it for a while you confuse yourself as the car or become to attached to it. Then after you park the car and leave you realize you’re not the car. Now replace body with car and consciousness with you.

DMT is so much more then just a drug that scrambles your brain🙂 DMT is what puts us to sleep, and makes us dream the realest of dreams at night, hence, “life is but a dream”. And when we die, our body naturally in a way gives us a inhumane dose of DMT throughout the body. Which well, is mystical in itself. Dmt is produced by the Pineal gland AKA “The third eye”

Interesting, I was on shrooms once and I had this idea that we were so small and the universe was in a petri dish. This was 15 years ago. An article was released recently and the study said we could possibly be in a petri dish. I was mind blown

I’ve had a NDE and I have had experiences with DMT and ayhuasca (I know, don’t take a substance you can’t even spell) but it’s interesting that I have experiences that mirror/echo yours. There’s definitely something to beyond this and it’s fuckin beautiful.

3:20 You need to choose in your life what is the background and what is the foreground "You can see the trees but not the forest in detail" 5:45 Who am I? Ask it deep down. Why the deep questions People say who you are but only you know it 8:00 Ask yourself questions that are "dumb" like Am I conccius. Don't be the victim of the world, live your life how you want it to be lived. 8:30 Under yourself what you need and figure out what other people did in your situation and understand how different they are from you and own yourself

The other leaf says to the scared leaf,"Can't you see, you're not afraid because you're going to die, you're afraid because you've mistaken your stem for your roots. If you want the entire truth.. If you want to know who you truly are, who we all are.. Once any of you experienced ego death you will know who you are....once you open this door it cannot be closed. It may drive you to insanity. You need a strong mindset to not fry your brain.

Very thought provoking! Do we, in fact create our own existence? Why are there human boundaries in place to not allow certain pinnacles of knowledge from the universe. Borders limit people in many ways, but it is the people who define those borders, that have no borders, wouldn’t feel special if all minds were free to think, so the endless games of Monopoly all end with the same result. Wipe the slate, and start over , always with the players making the boundaries and rules, as if their text were from a prior world, and the knowledge a secret. I say knowledge is free, and could be a good thing if allowed to expand. Secret, the word itself sounds evil, but it’s the only way you can be free, keep it secret, and those special people feeling special.

It is not what happens to you in life that is important. It is only how you react to what happens. It doesn’t matter where you’re coming from, either. All that really matters is where you are going. And where you are going is limited only by your own imagination. "When your two eyes become one, your body will be filled with light." This implies that when we go beyond the physical sight ( the two eyes) to the subtle experience or perception which occurs by opening of the third eye and thus entry of the awareness into the Sahasrara our body is filled with light, purity, grace etc.
