If you're looking for a new truck, you will hopefully find this video informative and helpful. Please join me while I explain my thoughts and lessons learned in trading a 2016 F150 equipped with a 3.5L Eco Boost engine for a 2023 XLT with a 5.0 L V8. The 2016 was a Platinum model with 137,000 miles, while the new 2023 is an XLT. I compare the two trucks and give an overview of the features on the XLT. I also take a look at the different MSRPs since they are 7 years apart. Even though the XLT is not as fully equipped as the Platinum, it has some nice features in it and some that are improvements from the 2016.

Have always been a V8 fan more so with my Mustang GT. Sold it 2 years ago. I feel 2018 was the year for boost to shine. Being both oil & water cooled. And today we know to use synthetic oil every 5k miles. I changed to a turbo motor 2020 love how a boosted motor tows. And for 2023 I went with an XLT 2.7 Supercab Ecoboost. Your exact truck in white 4x4 not FX4. If it were not for the towing our Travel Trailer possibly I would had gone with the V8. Next truck very likely a 3/4 ton… I turn them in at 50k miles or a little less. I have only 1720 payload. Appreciate the walk through.. Enjoy

Thanks for sharing your perspective. Very interesting, especially the part about turning them in around 50k miles. There are good reasons for that. I have talked to many people who like to turn them in just as they are about to pass warranty mileage. Thanks again.

Universally people are having problems with the 10 speed transmission hunting and clunking in gears. It's been 4 months, are you experiencing the same?

@@corporategonecountry A. does it have wireless apple car play and android auto? And is this a Texas edition? is that an actual pkg?
@corporategonecountry
@corporategonecountry 5 ай бұрын
@@Bronco2Cj Yes, it has wireless Apple Car Play and Android Auto. Since it's wireless, you don't have to connect your phone to a power cable and usb port. The Texas Edition is not a package. It is simply a badge on the tailgate. I don't think there are any features associated with it. Thanks for the question.

Sir I wouldn’t use that usb c in front of to charge the phone because that one is data port also.But I’d use C port from central console

Have you experienced any issues with the Coyote V8, or other problems areas on your 2023 XLT? I am torn between the F-150 Lariat and the RAM 1500 Laramie. I have not owned either brand truck, but am mostly driven by the V8 offerings - as I am not wanting any turbo powered engines. I have read issues with the RAM and cracking manifolds and leaking third brake lights and at $70K+ that is very disheartening.

I have not experienced issues with the V8, but please know that I've only had it about a month. Given its track record, it should be reliable. I have owned a Ford since 2016 so I'm very comfortable with that. My son owns a Ram and he's fine with it.

@@corporategonecountry - thanks for the information. Always good to hear from actual owners than just reading the reviews by sources like Edmunds.

I have a 2014 Lariat 5.0 w/ 223k on it. Regular maintenance and one water pump replacement. 5.0 is the way to go

Don’t get the v8, it has cylinder deactivation. You will have many issues because of it

LOL! Would be nice to have only 3 manual gears with the shifter on the steering column rather than a 10 speed transmission!

That is the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). As I mentioned in the video, dealers are open to discounts here at the end of 2023. I paid less than the MSRP. There are other models (Lariat, Platinum, King Ranch, Raptor) that are much more expensive. I appreciate your comment!

Good decision on going V8..The EEKoboost engines are junk. Next time, try a Ram. You won't be disappointed!

@@kevinbelanger4134 Yes, you are correct. From memory, the 3.5 Eco Boost has roughly about 1000 lb more towing capacity than the 5.0L.

Did the dealer add leather seats?
@corporategonecountry

Kind of. The dealer had an aftermarket company located at the dealership in the showroom. The aftermarket company installed the leather, the window tint, and the bed cover. They did a good job.
