Hey everyone back with more Scrap Mechanic Survival! Today Kosmo and I are going to plant carrots. Lots of carrots. Literally just a carrot episode. We need to expand the farm and in order to expand you need carrots. Yup. Seems weird right? First we give this guy caged people now carrots for dirt. Seriously where are the shovels? Why can't I just dig up dirt? Honestly need a shovel crafted from some stone and sticks... wait that's Minecraft. Well enjoy the carrots!

Also, I notice that the button shows up for kan every time he looks at a grown plant, you can hold the button to harvest everything instantly if you don't have it turned off or something. This goes for everyone else like me who didn't realize you could hold harvest until like day thirty.

Is it possible to take the dead WOC crates, by hitting them along, outside the factory, (into truck bed), to the TRADER? Will they get sucked up?

Imagine throwing spare seeds into a composter that gives soil. Maybe after a certain amount of seeds and some time, or each seed has a chance to increase the soil amount then after enough builds up then you can collect it. Could be useful after about 3-4 harvests when you have a wall o' seeds

Can also make soil from carrots and stuff in the Craftbot. Though you get more from trading the carrots. Same with fertiliser, but that's also useful to get rid of excess seeds.

One thing that I’ve noticed while playing survival mode in Scrap Mechanic is that the perfect time to start farming is right when the clock hits 23:40. That way, the bots don’t detect it just yet, but your plants will get an extra 20 seconds to grow to give them a higher chance of not being destroyed by any bots during the raid on the next day. Also *YES*, soil does dry out. Over time, the water becomes less and less. Whether or not soil has a plant on it, it will slowly dry out. If you water soil with no plant, you can slowly see it drying out.

To deposit the vegetables or fruits to make crates, you can just use a switch instead of a button. Switch on the switch and leave it on and it will automatically deposit all, instead of mashing " E " to use the button. ( Kan, please read this Information )

Raid level is determined at the time of detection. If you are planting between 4-5am, you can end up with a smaller raid come midnight. If you want small raids, harvest before 4am and replant.

... actually, if you tip, you don't have to use the lift. I have been able to simply weld by vehicle to a pole i create in the ground, to correct my vehicle positioning. Hope that helps for future cases.

You should try building a farm in the hideout. Why? Few reasons: 1. It's really well protected by the terrain, so if bots manage to pathfind at all, it would be only from a single, maybe two directions. 2. You have big lake in the middle, meaning easy watering 3. Packing stations are usually close to the hideout anyway.

The way the raids work. It is based on 2 things. 1 being how many and of what kind of plant you are planting. 2 being how big/ how many plots of soil you have. Higher crop val w/less soil or less crop val w/more soil. All equal to the same outcome. Which is being raids.

It does dry out with no plant. It does dry out with plants. If you don't fertilise broccoli/pineapple you will need to water them twice they take 2 days to grow, if you dont water second time they won't grow, soil dries out

After watching this video... Challenge, make a crate truck that can hold at least as many crates as you guys put in your trucks that does at least one of the following: A) Self-correcting, and can get righted without you needing to do what you did in this video. B) Omni-Sided, in that it can get flipped but can keep moving on whatever side it happens to land on. C) Inflatable Punching Clown Tech, similar to self-correcting in that it'll try to correct its self but the goal of this is that instead of mechanical arms that would push it back upright that just due to the way it's balanced it would want to naturally stop tumbling or tilting with it being balanced.

Initial spawn of the raid takes nine points in plants, even a single point will trigger a recurring raid.

the reason because the spud begun a raid is precisely because it increments per day (that's the reason why the subsecuent raids are harder) so unless you let the farming stop completelly it will eventually trigger a raid even if you plant less than enough plants to trigger a raid in normal circumstances also i have an issolated machine to automatically plant, water, and gather spuds. i think it was 200 blocks from the furthest part of my big farm, not sure. you should do that. so you allways have a few spuds.

kAN, you almost planted a spud there showing kosmo where to put the soil. Shooting an empty plot with a spudgun plants a spud, which puts me on the side of, why not weaponize all of the crops? Yes, unused watered plots will dry out eventually. They take longer to dry out than plots with plants in them because obviously the plants are sucking up all the water out of their own plots, but if you repeatedly water a plot, it'll stay 100% watered as long as you keep watering it. I believe the crop tolerance limit only counts for tier 1 crops and tier 1 only. Potatoes a near 0 tolerance count when it comes to growing them and raids and tier 2 and higher has an absolute 0 tolerance. In an old world, I grew 1 spud on an auto farm plot to just have an accumulating ammo supply and some times I'd get a raid for just it, other times it seemed to fall under the radar. But it seemed time based. Like if I logged in and had the spud growing between 12 and 4:30 in game it wouldn't prompt a raid, but any time out of that window would.

If you want to know how many bots will be in a raid you can use this app Scrapguide for androids, you can put in the plants you are growing and it tells you what bots will be in the raids for all three days, or if you use iOS there is an app called assistant to scrap mechanic, I use both and each have their own features, except the raid calculator is not accurate on that one. But overall you can plant as many crops as you want without a farm bot or tape bot spawning, they only spawn if there is broccoli or pineapples

If the hay bots and greenies are afraid of saws and drills you should make a wall around the plants made of drills and saws and have a switch that powers all of them so the bots are physically unable to get near the crops

soil does dry out on its own but i think it takes about 1.5x longer to dry than with a plant. i tested this a while ago but i don't remember exact numbers.

You need a "Score" of 10 to spawn a raid, this is also listed in the gme code which I altered so it doesn't happen. You can also enter what bots spawn during the raid, you can essentially make all raids have totebots if you desire.

Set up a chest hooked to four pumps... each one focused at each type of veg/fruit. with logics, so all you have to do it hook up a chest or multiple chests of fruit to the main chest nd push the button.
