When I trade in games at GameStop, what I love to do is bring the games in in the cases, but when actually going forth with the trade I remove the discs and pamphlet to keep the game case because you get NOTHING for handing over a game case or even a limited edition case. Nothing better than trading in 10 games and keeping all 10 cases watching the employees' reaction when you do it lol My friend went to GameStop to trade in his PS4 for $150. He didn't bring a controller so they deducted $50 for that. The trade in page should show that you need all wires, cables & controller. GameStop sucks I only go there to sell games whenever I need quick cash.

I dont quite understand this video. It's not bad, dont get me wrong, but why are you trying to value your collection through trade prices? You aren't even using the right price point, you were modeling for cash, with the store credit price. I work at gamestop, our trade system isn't great, but its because of business models, more then values. If people trade in that game, it goes down a lot, if it rarely gets traded in, its valuable. Then you have to factor in how much the company can make off that product, if you trade in fallout 76, for 20-18$, then we sell it for 55-50$ we make about 30-33$ on it depending on takes, pro cards, and coupons and junk. In the grand scheme of business, that's not a lot, especially for games nowadays. If you want to find good values for your collection, search Ebay, Amazon, craigslist, ect. Not trying to start a flame war, just showing you what it's like from behind the counter.

Unless you have extra controllers, they wouldn’t give you anything for your controllers. When you trade in a console, it must have the controller with it. Example if you traded in that Spider-Man ps4, then you must put a controller with it. Therefore you wouldn’t get $22 for that controller.

Stopped selling to GS years ago when I decided to collect for different consoles. When I do sell nowadays I tend to use ebay or sell/trade to friends. I still regret selling my original xbox collection to EBgames when I was 16, got 250$ for about 30 games. Now I look at ebay prices I could have gotten a lot more, plus I'm still missing some of those games from my current collection.

My retro stores really suck locally. I have about 3in my city. It seems like they use gamestop trade in calculator and then cut off 15-20% off from that. Tho if i want to sell things, i look up at gamestop first esp if there's trade boost or other specials going on. Then i look on ebay for recently sold listings and/or current listing prices. I will then estimate my shipping cost if i have to sell on mercari...then price below gamestop and ebay pricing all while making sure the product actually moves within 1-3days at below fair prices. Whatever gives me the most value is where i sell. Sometimes gamestop will give me better deals, sometimes mercari, sometimes locally

I traded in all my xbox one games for trade credit so I could use that trade credit on xbox currency. There was a sale on the xbox live marketplace and I did the unthinkable. Trading in my physical copies for digital versions becuase I wanted more space on my shelf. There was a lot of planning involved but I was able to do it no problem. Sometimes the deals are worth it but ill admit not always.

They always do a "refurbish" fee on all discs, I even brought in 3 games that I never played a single time without a scratch and the guy said they were heavily used.. Best way to sell your stuff is through Facebook market. You set the price, and only accept serious offers. You will get will get way less value by selling to GameStop. By selling on your own, you will get way better return, and your buyer will probably still pay alot less. You both win in the transaction.
