exactly the same question came to my mind last week. and i think i figured it out. don't start going against a strong trend immediately when the sentiment reverses , it takes a couple of weeks to actually get a reversal move worth trading., a lot of people have to lose money before that.

Thanks Dave, as usual.a brilliant trading video. Great to look at non-indicator based data for decision making. It really needs some back testing ( which I do on all my systems ) ...but probably no historic data to do this! IG has silver at 87% long, having been 88% long for days and weeks during the bull run. I guess change in sentiment rather than value may also be worth looking at. IG shows people are turning less bullish ....so contrarian means silver will go higher!?? Also do we need to see sentent at 90-95% before it's "extreme" ...I don't know the answer. Keep up the good work, best trading videos on KZbin!!!

In case of GU, retail sentiment is against the trend but in silver, retail sentiment is along with the trend. What can we conclude from it? What are you trying to tell? What is the correlation here?
@Capitaltrading2 жыл бұрын
Silver is a strange one. Regardless of what the market is doing those who trade it always seem to be positive. It’s a strange anomaly

Great video as always! Find your content extremely valuable. One thing I didn't quite get - for the position EUR/USD you saw a divergence between the trend (long) and the mass sentiment(mostly sells), that's why you took this trade?
@Capitaltrading4 жыл бұрын
Hi thanks for the comment. The trend was up which was the main thing and the fact that sentiment was still mixed - i.e. not extremely bullish, made me think that perhaps sentiment in the trend hadn't reached an extreme and there could be further trend to come. Hope this helps.

Sounds logical 😉
@superpaiyan73093 жыл бұрын
That's so logical indeed, and that's a principle you find again in every aspect of life: For example, if you learn a skill that everyone is learning, will you be able to make money and find a good job ? Maybe, but the odds of that will decrease the more competition you get... If you look like (physically) the average male/female, what are your odds of standing out of the crowd and find a partner that you like ? Far less than if you were more appealing (it's more complicated with humans behavior/emotions but I hope you get what I mean) That's why I think it's an excellent tool to use when trading.

I’m a swing trader and I trade in 4 hour time frame. I only use two indicators and price action to trade. The 50EM and ATR indicator are the only two I use. a moving average is a great indicator and doesn’t take up space like others such as RSI or MACD!

Sentiment isn't as important as following the trend.
@lehlohonolomoloi21093 жыл бұрын
The markets are going to take out the herd, they all think the same way but they think they are doing different things. The question is knowing how the institutions are pricing in. Once you know that, mix it with sentiment readings at extremes, then filter out the currency pairs with most extremes. You will only be cherry picking markets.
