Sailing Nandji - Frothlyfe

Sailing Nandji - Frothlyfe

Күн бұрын

This has been said by many world cruisers as the highlight of their lap around the world... www.sailingnandji.com
When we first arrived to Madagascar we sailed direct to our clearance port of Hellville in Nosy Be. This happens to be 100 miles south from the northern tip and meant we sailed past some spectacular looking islands which we wanted to check out. Therefore we are heading north to the
Mitsio archipelago to see what we missed!
Heading north means returning to the stronger solar winds and closer to the northern tip where the wind often rips at 50 plus knots and therefore we have to decide where to anchor very carefully.
It must be Protected in the afternoon westerly yet hidden from the morning easterly as the wind changes direction through the night.
We study the charts and scroll through satellite images to find anchorages and 9 out of 10 times we are successful, but there is always that chance…

I'm 61 now, but when I was a little one like Tallulah, I fell deeply in love with a tiny lemur from pictures in encyclopedia britannica that was called a Tarsier❤ it said they live in Madagascar. I pray you see one, Google it, as I believe you will be enthralled as I was at a child. Tiny little thing with huge eyes❤ I saw your sighting of a chameleon last week, and was overwhelmed with what you can find again. Your underwater video is so epic! Esp with Tallulah along! Happiest New Year 2025 ever!always love you all! PS Marley: good boy, nice digging sand holes❤

With places like that it is easy to see why you all sail! Madagascar continues to Surprise with its good people, beauty and gorgeous water. The vibe is a lot like the Menitawies. What a water person that Tallula is turning in to! Appears very comfortable in and on the water! Enjoy!

I have been watching and loving your videos for years as a fellow Sth Australian. Great that you have finally left Indonesia. It would be very helpful and would get you better deals if you would research the language of the countries you are about to visit. Just need to learn very basic greeting and basics. Wow. Tallulah has grown and she looks so healthy. I love to see Mali leap of the boat and swim ashore. He must love the exercise after the confines of the boat. Take care and see if you can find some Lemurs. Fascinating animals.

We learnt French for 4 months before coming here so we do know the basics, beyond that we struggled. A lot of people outside the city in Madagascar don’t speak French but only their traditional language. Even our French crew members struggled to communicate in Madagascar. The north part of the country struggle to communicate with those from the south, it’s a challenging country.

@@FrothLyfeSailingNandji That's great. I have traveled the world a lot and to some far out places and so I understand the difficulties when dealing with rare languages. It's good fun though. I presume you realize how lucky you are to be doing what your are doing even though it takes a lot of work and planning. Best of luck to the 4 of you.

Those Boebob trees I not sure that's how you spell that trees name they are awesome. It was kind of you to touch and hug the tree. After all Madagascar is the only place and maybe surrounding islands you might find them and they are a special type of tree's. 😊 It's so great you got to trade. It's great the four of you got out and enjoyed your selves. I am glad marlie got to run and have fun. He's a great furbaby. 😊

We also have some in Australia, dotted around in mostly secluded locations, but predominantly in W.A. We spell them as Boab, some call them bottle trees due to their shape, amazing trees that grow to be very old.. The spelling doesn’t matter, we all know what they look! 👍
