They should know better than anyone else where he stands. Let’s be real, Zion has not shown he can stay healthy. It’s not like he’s some no brainer max guy who’s gonna make $500M in his career. He’s not going to take the qualifying offer and turn down $100M+ to leave. He’s obviously out for the rest of this season. We’ll find out if he needs another surgery or whatever. Hopefully he’s able to play 22-23 and then we’ll see.

Edit: Ah nvm you’re talking about the MEM pick. That’s LAL’s 2022 1st that NOP had. They sent it to MEM (T10 protected) in the Jonas trade. So ya Memphis should’ve kept that pick at 13. T10 protected means if it’s in the T10, the team who sent it over (NOP) keeps it. If it’s 11-30, MEM gets it. Could’ve had a Jaden Ivey SGA back court and then Jabari at the 4 then traded CJ. Or had Jabari and Paolo or Jabari and Chet at 4/5 then SGA at 1 or 2 etc. OR packaged #3 with CJ who knows. SGA/Ivey/BI/Jabari would’ve been a fire 1-4 though. Then could’ve traded pick 13 and CJ for a C. Many possibilities indeed.
