Relaxing wet shave experience "including aromatic hot steam towels, facial prep including pre-shave oil, shave cream, followed by hot shaving brush soap, and then your hot steam/ozone infused shave will be performed with a straight razor."
A truly relaxing experience of multiple passes, post facial moisturizer and after shave to finish. A must do for all planning a visit to Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
John uses a steamer to keep the skin and shave soap hydrated during the shave. Due to the altitude there is hardly any moisture in the air so the shave soap tends to dry out faster.

Hello everyone! John the “Wanderlust” Barber here...I wanted to help answer any questions about the shave. I completely understand what you mean about the steam machine being a bit much in the ASMR “mix” of things. Ill try to explain why the steam is important to the client experience. I perform shaves at 7,000 feet above sea level here in the Colorado Rockies, and where I performed this service has almost no humidity at all. The air is very dry here. The moisture in the soap tends to dry up faster than when I shave clients at sea level and using a steamer with ozone helps replenish both the moisture in the soap and as well the fact that steam application of ozone has a germicide, sterilizing and anti-inflammatory effect on the freshly shaven and exposed epidermis. As a client, your comfort and experience is paramount to what I do. Its actually quite relaxing when you are in the chair by the way, and it honestly is not that loud in person. There was 5 microphones in the room which enhanced the "mix" for you (2 under the barberchair, 1 on Harry, 1 on me, 1 on the camera). With regards to what I sprayed on the towel, I like to use either Eucalyptus to invigorate the senses and open the sinuses, or Lavender, which helps relax my clients and soothes their tension. I try to be considerate of the individual client and there goals for the shave. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Lastly, its a privilege and honor to perform my craft for my clients. Without people like Harry (& Mystery Woman) the art of Traditional Barbering would not be known or even followed. Special thanks to Him (& Her). And my sincerest gratitude to ALL of you for giving me the chance to share my passion for being a barber. 🙏🏼💈John the Wanderlust Barber💈

Thank you for taking the time to explain this. Personally, I see the steam machine as something unique to the experience. Finding unique barbering experiences is rather at the heart and soul of the Haircut Harry channel. I'd never really considered environmental factors before, so I learned something new.

@@Jas_Flash92 nah, there isn't any money being lost. It's very simple, you know how long it'll take, and you price it accordingly. If a barber shop is losing money, they're either priced to high for their market and they're not getting enough business, or they're not priced high enough and they're leaving money on the table.

I love seeing that there are barbers out there who realize that a rushed haircut or shave isn't always the best. Men know how to take care of other men. The challenge is finding a place like this. Living outside Washington D.C. the area is very commercialized. its hard to find someone that isn't focused on how many chairs are filled but more about the quality and relaxation of the shave.. Men don't get a lot of pampering, but when we do its cause we need it, the healing and relaxation it brings. Props to John, and Harry this was awesome to watch and Harry for another relaxing video to enjoy...Are you comfortable sir?

Best straight razor shaves of the channel so far in my opinion; 1 - Steamboat Barbershop 2 - Farzad "The Happy Barber" 3 - The NightOwl but John Greco is by far the most elegant one.

Thank you Harry, for posting all of your experiences. My grandfather was a barber through WW2. My mother let me have all of his tools after he passed away. I’ve still got his straight razors as well as his safety razors, razor strop, and first generation clippers. They still smell like his barber shop and his razors still have the perfect edge. I have such fond memories of growing up in the barber shop, my second tattoo was a barber pole. By the time he passed, he had performed thousands of shaves on our servicemen. If his hands could have spoken. John, what you do brings tears to my eyes, because you are part of a remarkable few with a true craft that has been handed down through decades. Your career is nostalgic, historic and artistic. It has been desired, revered and sought after by royalty, leaders and your everyday humble man worldwide since men began shaving with shards of obsidian. It’s a dying art unfortunately but what you do honors the memory of my grandfather, his service, others like him and the current generation of barbers. I tip my hat to you sir. Thank you.

This guy is a master. One of the few times I've watched a video and gone "wow, I HAVE to visit this barber, he's a master at his craft". The attention to detail, the precision, the little touches that make it perfect...thoroughly enjoyable to watch, must be even more enjoyable in person. This is my favourite video of yours along with Figaros from Lisbon.

John is a total pro. His bedside manner is something else. He wears a vest, tie, dress shirt, and even a name tag. His methodology is impeccable. He takes his job very seriously. He doesn't just give you a shave, he gives you an unforgettable experience. And you what else? If he charges $100 for this shave, not only will his customers gladly pay that price, but they will do so with pleasure! He'd probably put me in the deepest sweet sleep.

Absolutely John. I really enjoyed the aftershave part. You give your male customers 3 choices of aftershave, and I'm sure those three are amazing. I love the way you splash the aftershave into your hand, and then rub both hands together. I can watch that scene over and over :-) Where are you located, and what is the price of a shave like that one? I'll get my wife and daughter to send me to your place for a shave as my Father's Day gift :-) You have something special going on there. I hope your business continues to prosper and grow, as you definitely deserve it.

My respect too you as well, sir. is very important for all of us, & people like yourself puts us on the map for our work. is time for others to see us in a different way, because our work is an art, a proffesion, ect. i charge $125 per cuts & i've a group of customers who pays that amount for the cut & service. Other would complain about. We've the right to ask what we think our talent & our work is worth. Of course we'll have people/customers who could afford that amount of money & other group who can't or don't want to pay that amount. iSay thank you for showing your talent & letting others to see you.🙏🏼👍🏼

@@llorenstorrespr4409 Agreed. We charge what we are worth. Our industry is plagued with a severe lack of respect for our craft, and the notion that our hands, tools, talent, license, insurance, and professional training and literally thousands of hours of practice is somehow worth $20 because "it will grow back". Im glad to hear that you command a premium for your services and that you are able to take care of your clients at that price. We need more barbers like you. All the best brother. 💈💪🏼
