Thank you. This has been one of my most fave films as I am a weaver and basket maker. What a beautiful being who graces the lands. Nice to see a younger generation come back home to continue this tradition. She’s one step to not letting the tradition being forgotten. I remember shí masaní always making rugs, I even seen her dye the wool and she even use to buy wool off of my nalí asthá. Idk if I spelt the nalí lady right. Sorry my comment is so long. Well for the first 5 years of my kids life they love the Rez even though they grew up mostly off the Rez. They’ll say we want to go home even though we’re at home in the small city area. So I hope they stay that way because when Cheii retires and they move back him we’re dropping them off lol.

I grew up mostly off the rez as well but our kiddos always ask when we are going to visit their Nali's so they can help around the farm and watch soccer with their Nali man, ha. I really enjoyed this interview. I am native New Mexican and a weaver but interesting enough I learned to weave while living in Norway. I lived on a farm that was very old and had looms just as old. I learned sheep to sweater, sheep to rug, even learned to spin and weave linen. It is nice to hear people reconnecting to the land and the culture❤

I'm watching this video, my mind heavy with worry about my unborn son.. doc's saying his not developing as he should. This video is helping me clear my mind. Sorry to hear about your son. Before our lil one was born, the Dr wanted to schedule an induced pregnancy but my wife and I both told him, "our lil one will come when he's ready." They insisted but we held back and out came our precious one on his own schedule. Continue to pray for blessings on your lil one, the mother's body knows best & Dr's don't know it all. We'll send good vibes your way.

Hello I love listening to other weavers with their talents of weaving they have a wonderful gift. My mother is a well known weaver her name is Ruby Hubbard she weaves for a living it’s also her income she weaves for trading post. But love this vlog about Tasheena her rug is beautiful.

Maybe she was referring to the weaving part that she needs no guidance from her mom. The peace surrounding her as she weaves is astounding! Maybe a sheepskin covered yoga mat for sitting would help? Very beautiful about the rez when I visit my parents and siblings out there❤

@@mysticallavish1360 I'm assuming the same thing but I think it was taken out of context. What I got from her story was the areas of weaving she didn't learn from her mom, she filled in by doing her own research and networking with other weavers. The area was absolutely peaceful. After the interview, my wife and I went to a quiet spot and soaked in the peaceful sound of wind and birds. I certainly miss being in this area of the rez.
