Thank you for sharing sisi, but i have a suggestion. I have not tried making ginger beer but I bake a lot of bread, and I teach people that aee interested in learning home baked bread, and so I usually tell the purpose of each ingredient. My point here is, yeast is a living fungus that eats the sugar in the included ingredients and it releases carbon dioxide which in turn makes the bread rise, in this case makes the ginger bubly, 😉. The problem is you added the yeast in the cooking process the high temperature killed the yeast thereby defeating the whole purpose of adding the yeast in the first place 🫣. Try adding the yeast after it cools down but don't put it in the fridge, the cold will slow the yeast down, room temperature and sealed. It will be stronger that I stoney, and the kwetsa ooh oooh. ❤❤

I actually preferred her version because when I put the yeast layer it became too strong and the alcohol content was a bit too much for me as well. Or is that the point?

Is Gemere a healthy drink?
@EatingwithLesego
@EatingwithLesego Жыл бұрын
Hi there.👋🏽 I honestly don't know. Given the amount of sugar that needs to be used to make it, I would say it's best not to consume it everyday. And at the same time there is the use of raw ginger and pinapple, which has it's own fair share of benefits. So it's a little bit tricky.😅
@chabilesejane5
@chabilesejane5 Жыл бұрын
@@EatingwithLesego it really is a little tricky, but I think it's somewhat a "balanced" drink. I've never has it with pineapple, so it's something I'll definitely be trying. Thank you 🥰

@@oamemooketsane6966 Hahaha wowzers! 😂 That is a lot of gemere. Ke sho this is for msebetsi or Christmas family gatherings. If you calculate it right, it should come out good. Give it a test run with a smaller portion and once you're happy with it, you can look at making a massive portion.

Hey! 👋🏼 Apologies for the delay in response. I thought that I had answered you. Yes, it usually tastes better and a little stronger too. It allows for the ingridients to set. But it has to be refrigerated. Keep it in the fridge.
