As a historical style of clothing worn and developed by the Han people in China, hanfu has witnessed the long journey of Chinese civilization over the millennia. Based on historical records and textual research, this hanfu show brings to the stage the clothing of four ancient dynasties - including the Jin, Tang, Song and Ming. To celebrate China's Dragon Boat Festival, or Duanwu Festival, many festive elements also feature in the show. This video is part of a special festive program presented by China Media Group (CMG) on Thursday to celebrate the festival. Featuring various kinds of art forms such as singing, dancing, drama and recitals, the program will transport audiences to picturesque Zigui, the hometown of the great Chinese patriotic poet Qu Yuan.

chinese are classy people, their cultures are very refined, their foods , wines, women, men, childrens, old are all very classy people. very welcoming, charming people. There is no place as pratical and kind and helpful as the Chinese. People sings, people dances, people play games , rarely I saw any dullness after working on and off in Humen zhen, zhong shan, shanghai, Hangzhou, Shaoxing, Jinan, Naning. I surely missing it.

I wish our government would keep promoting our traditional Chinese culture out to the world in a more impactful way. It’s inconceivable that China only has 3/4 of a million foreign residents whilst Japan has more than 2 million and Korea 1.5 million. We are a huge country with so much to offer we should be making it easier for tourists to visit and make China a foreigner friendly country. So many people are put off by the idea of visiting China because they think we are a dangerous, poor country by association with communism. We are anything but. I myself am Chinese Costa Rican, born and raised abroad. I have never had a Chinese passport and every time I wish to visit China, my motherland I need to get a tourist visa. It’s ridiculous. I think China as a world leader should project itself as an open and friendly country, I understand visas are done for the purposes of controlling the influx of foreign individuals in a country but China is not making it easy for people to get a visa. It’s a major bureaucratic hurdle. China can benefit hugely by changing people’s perceptions of our country and also economically.

No, you're not Chinese. Your ancestor abandoned their country when China was poor, no way for them and their descendants to share the fortune when China is rich. We have 1.4bn people, we don't need more!

Based on my knowledge. Until 1:32 it was Han-Three Kingdoms. From 1:32 to 3:31 it was Three Kingdoms-Tang. From 3:31 to 5:12 it was Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms-Song. And finally, from 5:12 to the end of the video it was Ming.

The Chinese government should set every Sunday the day for wearing Hanfu in every city. It will give an extra boost to the economy in the garment manufacturing sector. Imagine what the revenue will be even if just 50% of the population starts wearing Hanfu, and in reality, Hanfu is very graceful. Moreover, it will help bring back our culture.

Hanfus are well and Nice. But their appeal has worn off in modeen times. Besides, If Chinese Keeps on wearing Hanfus how would tbe Modernisation set in? If Europeans wore their 13-14th century attire even today how and where would the world be?
