As an Eastern Orthodox Christian who grew up in parochial/Catholic schools, I really appreciate the beauty, tradition and internal symbolism of the Tridentine Mass over the Novus Ordo. There are elements similar to the earliest Christian masses and the Divine Liturgy of Saint John Chrysostom.

Traditional Catholics are scolded and shunned by their church for desiring what is just the norm in Orthodoxy. Even among the most traditional Catholics though they still hold to a theology built upon papal forgeries, lies; and interpretations of scripture not held among the church fathers, or ecumenical councils.

Excellent video and well done. Just to let everyone know there are two dedicated TLM parishes in the "greater" Boston area, staffed by the FSSP. One in Nashua NH which is an hour north of Boston. Providence RI, which is about an hour south of Boston also has a FSSP parish.

Very well made video. The reference to beer....interesting, but understood. I beleive it explains exactly that young people are looking, for more in a world where nothing is sacred. They find it when they experience the beauty, the holiness this ancient rite brought down through the centuries. A rite that people actually died for. I have no doubt it will survive as much as they try to distroy it.

Both Masses are valid, but the Tridentine allows the faithful to really know Christ is present in the Eucharist, it is NOT a symbol or a spiritual presences, it is literally the real body and blood of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ I do notice and have asked many parishioners at the novus ordo, if the believe in transubstatiation. Many did not even know the word, but sadly, many Roman Catholics believe it is a spiritual symbol. As a Catholic, a Roman Catholic, when you attend a Tridentine Mass, you know that transubstantiation has occurred. There are no electric guitars or drums, and everyone is kneeling during consecration, and after Holy Communion, knowing the real presence of Christ should be respected. It is sad that this progressive Pope is ordering the dioceses to not say the Tridentine Mass anymore. Much of this is coming from that terrible synod, which wants to allow many sinful acts to be condoned by the Church. Resist and respectfully reject that which goes against God's will, reverence, and faith for us. We are not bound by the Pope to do everything he orders, and we can speak to the Bishop for help. Cleveland has a great and kind Bishop, who is really trying to find ways to keep TLM going, but alas, he is running out of options. I know this comment is a year later, but as someone who is a NO parishioner but has attended the Latin rite for over 27 years, we must not let this beautiful and much more reverent and respectful Mass be taken away. Let's find priests and go underground if needed. There's nothing wrong with that, as private masses may be said in either form. God bless, Ave Maria.

There's not really any difference except in Holy Week. Like most parishes here post Summorum Pontificum, we use the '62 Missal. I am sort of a 'Restore the '54' guy though.

What in the world was the kid doing pretending to consecrate the Body of Jesus? Please remember that it was these listed churches that demolished the Traditional Latin Mass after Vatican II. How valid can a pretend Mass be from the Novus Ordo? Seriously seeking this answer! TIA

I am not understanding your message, but the boy was pretending to play Mass with his siblings. Many Catholic families do this - teach their children to play in a way that’s aimed at God. If they are taught right, they will know that they do not have the power to consecrate the host unless they become ordained later in life.

The "mass of the saints" was never a mass of the people - poor ones, at least. Those who didn't put coins in the Church's coffers weren't even allowed in the Church itself, much less receive communion. Also, because only monks could read and write at that time, the "beauty," "holiness," whatever of the words were lost on them. In any case, Vatican II was an attempt to ensure that ALL of the faithful were included individually and directly with the Liturgy, by having it in the native language of the parishioners - not just the elite. It goes to participation and meaningfulness. As an ex-Catholic, former religious, I understand your devotion, but it's a bit anachronistic, but worse, it perpetuates the social and civil divisions, sadly, marked by the Church's history of pandering to the rich and powerful - see Kings declare themselves Popes. It's analogous to having a longing and fondness for the Confederste Flag - easy to do if you're not a descendent of slaves for which the flag has a totally different meaning. Finally, if you study theology, the liturgy, specifically, (I was earning my Masters in Divinity at Catholic University, DC after First Promises) you'll understand more fully the "fetiishizing " of rituals, especially of the Mass, throughout the Church's history, including the traditional greetings, the "Lord be with you, " comes from the Roman courts, "the Gods be with you." I suggest that part of your deep faith, should also coincide with deep knowledge. See St. Aquinas' works on faith and reason. Buh-bye.

The Mass is a mystery if you think you understand it, it may be because you have no idea what is going on in the Altar.

If you are unaware of the contents of the Mass, then that could be challenging and might not allow one to meditate so much. Thankfully, missals are allowed so we can see English translations of all that is being said. The Gregorian Chant and silent prayers at the altar really help people draw into the Mass and into prayer. Every little detail matters

And one last thing - even if we don’t know what’s being said, we know that Jesus Christ is being sacrificed for us and that we are taken back to that exact moment at Calvary. As a Catholic, that is essential!
