DIY light box: a piece of glass from a picture frame (you can get these at the dollar store + if you get a big enough one you can keep the frame on, which I recommend because the glass is sharp!), a large Tupperware container slightly smaller than your glass, and a phone flashlight. I did this recently and it worked perfectly! I know it’s random but I’m at the part of the video where she mentions them and I was like “oh shit I have a hack for this!!!”

When it comes to using a lightbox I really like doing a very simple tracing of the sketch underneath, turning the lightbox off, and then going in to add line variation. It's just easier for me because my sketches typically aren't very light so keeping the lightbox on while trying to do line variation can get a bit confusing because the sketch lines start looking like the inked lines. Plus it's really nice to see a before and after with line variation, I always take pics of the 1st step of inking and then afterward and it's cool to see how big of a difference it makes and how much it improves the entirety of the piece. I'm super excited to see this piece colored though, looks incredible already

Ok, so I'm looking for advice. I always thought that my art wasn't that good until I was hanging with my friend who's an art major. We started doing some at things together (because I still think art is fun even though I don't think I'm good at it), and she told me that I'm actually really good. This made me rethink. I started sharing my art with others and they really appreciated it. However, I still think my art is at that unsharable level. Does anyone have any suggestions to getting past this idea?
@dovenart75466 жыл бұрын
Share it anyways! No art is unsharable, and if you wait until you feel it is, you'll never put yourself out there! Doing it takes the fear away from it, and can help build your confidence as an artist.
@aoiharuko82376 жыл бұрын
I agree with Wil! Just start posting your art online, and keep showing it to your friends! You'd be surprised how interested people are in art that you aren't happy with haha. Not all art has to be perfect either, and definitely don't compare yourself to others who are many levels above you!
@thetakisupurass24906 жыл бұрын
Alexander Wood just do it! Sharing your art helps you improve and be comfortable with it, people can give you tips and you’ll just feel better about it in general! Have you done it yet? Lol I wanna see your art
@apollofateh3246 жыл бұрын
The thing is, your art is always going to be "unsharable" because you're always comparing yourself to people who are better or where you wish you were. Even if you get to the level you wanted to be at last year or ten years ago, you'll still believe it's unsharable because it's not as good as you want it to be. Your own standards are constantly increasing, the horizon line keeps expanding. If you want to get comfortable sharing your art, you have to appreciate the things that you do like that you're doing, even if they aren't the best yet. You can still love something without it being perfect, and if you want to be happy with art in general, your going to have to. Nobody ever thinks they're perfect, it's about loving your work anyway. You also are not obligated to share: your joy is yours, and if it makes you happier to keep it to yourself or only share with close friends, then don't feel pressured to do what other people want.

I couldn't find any colored ink micron pens in my local arts stores...they even claimed these only come in black. I really wanted more colors, but I can't even find brown...they suggested some colored pens that they claimed were waterproof, but luckily I tried them on some scrap paper first and they smudged VERY much. I think the only way I can get colored micron pens is to order them online from another country.

So I am extremely new to watercolor, and my microns say waterproof. So I use them and they freaking bleed omg. Well, only half of the drawing did, idk why. Anyways, I have a question. When you were starting out, did you also feel very discouraged? Or how long did it take for you to get the hang of watercolors
@hotexwife6 жыл бұрын
October Dreamer From my experience, you always want to leave your lineart out to "dry" overnight. The only way for you to have complete control over the kind of waterproof ink you use is to switch over to dip pens and quink.
