However, I noticed that some aspects of Islamic divorce were not accurately portrayed, and I'd like to politely provide some additional context on the matter. In Islam, a marriage is considered nullified when a husband/wife expresses divorce intentions in three instances, not just by saying "you are not my wife." This process involves counseling and a three-month waiting period (called Iddah) for reconciliation attempts. If the couple engages in intimacy during this period, they are encouraged to continue their marriage. However, if issues persist, and divorce is initiated for the third time, an Islamic court will separate the couple without another waiting period. It's important to note that either spouse can initiate divorce in Islam, although cultural practices may differ in countries like Nigeria, where men may do so more frequently. Note that divorce is not encouraged in islam, but Allah provides a structured process for couples who have exhausted reconciliation efforts. If you listen well you will hear him say if you're married under a licensed place of worship, which is a church, churches get licensed by the court to be able to marry people. Church marriage is the same as court marriage or marriage under the registry.

Does one marraige supercede the other? For example, if a couple does the two marriages, both the registry and customary. The husband unexpectedly dies without a will. Can the family of the husband contest for the rights of his properties. Or does it automatically go to the wife?

Islamic marriage is a customary marriage while Christian marriage can also be said to be under the registry because you have to go and do your marriage in a licensed church or mosque. On the other hand Islamic marriage is governed by the Islam law so therefore it is recognized. But the registry marriage is superior to Islamic marriage and other customary marriages
