The Chile Relleno are the poblano pepper. Very mild and easy to find in the States! Purslane is actually a weed, and you probably have some growing in your yard!

The ice cream in Mexico is some times made with water so it might be called nieve (snow) rather than helado(ice cream).

Scorpion Don I believe nieve is closer to sorbet, another cold treat that does not contain dairy. Snow cones normally use a sugary syrup added to crushed ice for flavor. In my experience nieve does not use these syrups.

I miss Mexico so much! We used to go very often when I was a kid as my mom is from Michoacan, but I haven't been back in at least 17 years. I'm too scared and if something were to happen to my kids or loved ones, I could never forgive myself. Hopefully, one day I'll feel it is safe enough to go. My SIL is from "el DF" or Mexico City, different customs and foods than "my people" from coastal Michoacan. So many great memories came back with this video, thank you!

I had an amazing experience with a bag of those one time. I worked at a Circkle K and we know a few people that sell flowers outside at the intersection. During summer they sell those and peanuts. So, they gave us some bags and when I bit into one of them the juice just splashed everywhere. I had to slurp it up! It hit the spot because it was scorching hot outside and had let them sit in our 35 degree cooler until they were cool. Delicious.
