Amazing! I bought an instrument from Imad shop in Essaourira in 2009! I moved recently and now I have a daughter and I found in my storage room the instrument that I had bought back then and I wanted to show it to her..and I could not remember the name of it ...and I started looking for info in youtube so to tell her! it's called outar rouwachi or just rwicha

Actually the "lute" instrument is Afrikan and go back centuries to millennia in West Afrika and Ancient Khemet (Black/Afrikan Egypt). His is a slightly modified version. Same origins just different cultural ways of playing them.
