Traditional Slovak Mountain Village of Vlkolínec

Today we visited the Unesco Heritage site Vlkolínec, what an amazing place, I highly recommend visiting if you ever get the chance. I had the most amazing traditional Slovak soup.

Your pronunciation of Vlkolínec was very good. I totally understand why you are afraid to speak Slovak, you want it to be right and you don't want to butcher the language. I had the same issue with English. When I was visiting Cardiff 3 years ago my friends told me they can understand everything, even with my Slovak accent. So my advice is don't be afraid to try it, the more you'll speak the better you'll get. I'm always very happy when I see a foreigner trying to speak Slovak, it warms my heart to see they are trying to learn our language. I was there also once in this village, nice to see😁😁, this year we were in Serbia for the first time, also visiting such old village, we were eating also traditional Serbian food, it was delicious. Serbia is really interesting, very friendly people, cheap, they speak good English, when not, you can use Slovak language.

@@JonoGraham Slovak police do not tolerate alcohol behind the wheel. There are big fines. But the cabbage, I envy you. I haven't eaten that in at least 3 years since I've been in England.

I did some digging and found a movie called Jánošík from 1962. It seems to be the kind of movie I'm looking for and has received pretty good reviews (7.2/10 and 82/100).
