our house usually will put vermicelli noodle instead, the purpose for the noodle in it, is to absorb the juice/sauce from other ingredient, ( vegetable, ....), so the wetness will not reach the wrapper skin, will not easy to break.

I researched on this topic of the origins in thr tomb sweeping holidays and surprisingly discovered it was not really of Chinese origin, but of a Jewish ancient tradition that can trace back to the Passover Preparation of both lamb slices meat and the Unleavened Bread for families to eat together in remembrance of their ancestors that came out of Egypt. But as to why there were similar traditions in ancient China? I can only say there were traces of both Jewish and Persian thar "migrated" or "Exiled" as far into China during the Han Dynasty. It was also during that time the Persian and Jewish Christian first established their presence as a minority in China but soon became influential in trade routes through the Silk Road that connected with the ancient west of Medes and Persia Assyrian

Powdered peanut and sugar are essential for Taiwanese wraps. It’s as essential as tomato sauce is to bolognese, not really a customisable part of the dish 😅 otherwise you’re just eating random ingredients without anything to tie it all together.
