Another great food video. When the Japanese manager busted out Japanese in the middle of the interview, and Felix had a look on his face - all I could think of is Chance The Rapper SNL Sports Announcer skit! He didn’t know hockey so he just said, “let’s do that hockey”. I thought Felix was going to end the interview with, yeah let’s do that soba. 🤣

Lol!! Felix is so much better at interviews than I am👍🏻

This was such a great video. I just love all the different choices of soba. I'm from Okinawa, and my favorite soba is, Okinawan Soba, duh... lol. All the side dishes looked so good too! That beef bowl looked delicious!! The shrimp tempura is absolutely amazing. It was huge. I used to go to the LnL drive in right across the parking lot all the time. I have to try Shingen soon. Thank you for the video guys! ALOHA!!! Kenny

I know all of us foodies have great adventures pursuing our favorite Soba noodles. And not taking away from the many gloriously delicious Soba shops on Oahu, but I am thankful that we live in modern times and that Soba noodles are machine made. If we were to rely on hand made soba noodles hand made by any Soba master, then I am certain that Soba noodles would be priced somewhere around $100 - $200 per bowl and I would be found whining in a corner from not having my weekly Soba noodle fest...
@titasmom6782 жыл бұрын
Those soba noodles looked so good. I'm used to having a side order of soba go with my main meal...not the other way around, so that really shows that these noodles must be special. Thanks for highlighting this special place.

Ooo, all looked so ono, but I would especially like to try that shingen beef bowl. Now I'm hungry when I should be heading to bed. G"night. Oh yeah, won't happen for a few months yet but my hubby n I are moving from WA state to Nevada. We're so excited.

I remember the great food at Matsugen, and everything looks like oishii authentic Japanese food at Shingen! Thanks for sharing whatʻs being served for Food-A-Go-Go. Just wanted to let you know "warabi" is the wild bracken fern, and I think it's the same as the fiddlehead fern or hōʻiʻo in Hawaiʻi. Itʻs a healthy rice mochi substitute!

Looking forward to trying all of the soba at Shingen as all the other dishes on what looks like an extensive menu. It will be a treat to have house-made noodles. We like Zaru, hot soba and udon. We're the noodle Ohana so this place will be just right for our appetites.

Food A Go Go looks bomb at Shingen! Slurping zaru/cold soba is like summer in Japan. Interesting to have 3 different soba to choose from plus all of the ono looking dishes with the Warabi mochi, also a summer time treat, included as dessert.

Mahalo for another great video. I agree with you about the store bought soba noodles being on the gritty side. But an FYI, try the Sun Noodle fresh soba, it's not gritty. Plus, you're lucky since Sun Noodle is headquartered in Hawaii. You have full access to all their noodles.

Could it be this restaurant is the new and since it's affiliated with Matsugen thus named Shin (Japanese for new) Gen=Shingen? Big fan of Shingen and I always enjoy getting the free beverage via Yelp.
