Great tip Sam! I repurposed plastic cutting boards for the same thing. You can tape the sandpaper to them or use the clamps to secure the sandpaper. Thanks for sharing!👍

I've been using sandpaper on a block of wood or the edge of a table for years. Works fantastic! I do like the paper clips. I'll be building one of these for sure.

Thats how I did it for many years. Then had the idea to make a block to hold the paper still so that I could sharpen knives while sitting in teh bath tub. I kid you not. Thats how this thing came to reality. I was injured and a bath was basically required every other day for the pain. I had a board across the tub I would put my laptop on to work. made this to sharpen broadheads and knives in the tub as well..lol

I made a leather strop out of a belt that takes the thin metal off that is a clever way of sharpening good stuff my friend

Great idea! I was going to get some foam backed abrasives and staple them to my workbench for a convex blade I have. This looks better.

@numerouno4168 love convex sharpened blades they work really good. tricky part is trying to resharpen them into field gets a little more complicated

Double sided tape and sandpaper was popularized by Mors Kohanski decades ago. It works on shit steels like carbon mora
