Amazes me how people are still finding out how great the tri tip cut is. It's incredibly versatile cut of meat. Being a native Santa Marian, it's just normal for us. The tri tip grains run two directions, just make sure you cut across the grain both ways.

I feel like I’ve been living life unfulfilled until I cooked this. It’s my new favorite. I wish I would’ve found out about it much sooner in life. So good.

Try cooking tri tip like a brisket it’s an absolute game changer! Cook at 225 degrees until it hits a stall around 160-165 then foil it and cook until 200-205 degrees so tender it’s ridiculous it’s around an 8 hr cook let rest for 30-60 minutes very long process but definitely worth the wait

I'm hoping you meant cook a brisket like a trip tip ...... No one wants to eat a tri tip cooked to an internal WELL DONE temp of 200-205 degrees

@@bcarpenter2488 sir that’s exactly what I’m saying , I thought the same darn thing but I watched a video from hey grill hey and after trying it for myself she turned me into a believer! Comes out tender as can be and damn delicious because your smoking it for so long,if you ever take the gamble let me know how you liked it, I was hesitant myself but I’m glad I took the risk,

Well done takes about 10-15 minutes longer. I respect that. Thank you for watching.
