On May 3rd, 2022, I captured footage of Seattle Fire units battling several boats and a boat house on fire in the Georgetown neighborhood.
The fire was accidently started by an elderly man living on one of the boats, who was a heavy smoker and on oxygen. That man was later found deceased, and another person was injured. Several of the oxygen tanks could be seen exploding on footage from a WSDOT camera (0:56).
Several rarely seen SFD units were also seen responding on camera, including Air 26 - the smaller counterpart to Air 260, both based in the South Park neighborhood.
Units ended up stretching hose across train tracks, and there was apparently some difficulty getting ahold of the rail companies. They ended up dispatching an engine a mile up the tracks on either side to watch for oncoming trains. The tracks belong to UP, and are a low speed industrial line.
Units dispatched:
Initial call:
Engines 5, 10, 11, 13, 28
Ladders 3, 12
Battalions 2, 5, Deputy 1, Safety 2, Staff 10

Later units:
