Traffic (feat. Steve Winwood) - (Sometimes I Feel So) Uninspired (1973) | LIVE

Traffic were an English rock band, formed in Birmingham, in April 1967 by Steve Winwood, Jim Capaldi, Chris Wood and Dave Mason. They began as a psychedelic rock group and diversified their sound through the use of instruments such as keyboards like the Mellotron and harpsichord, sitar, and various reed instruments, and by incorporating jazz and improvisational techniques in their music.
Their first three singles were "Paper Sun", "Hole in My Shoe", and "Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush".
Traffic disbanded in 1969, during which time Winwood joined Blind Faith, then reunited in 1970 to release the critically acclaimed album John Barleycorn Must Die. The band's line-up varied from this point until they disbanded again in 1974. A partial reunion, with Winwood and Capaldi, took place in 1994.
Traffic were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004.

God, I'm going to ssuch a horrible time in my life, it's been so difficult and a lot of the time I don't want to be here and it's taken a lot of my strength to stay here. A lot of these lyrics completely express how I'm feeling. I'm a huge traffic fan but for some reason, I didn't know this song and only came across it the other day, it's beautiful, I feel like it was written about and for me (I know to some people that probably sounds ridiculous)

Must watch that. This must be just after Hood has his bass stolen, as I've watched the KZbin show where he talks about how he bought two black jazz basses the next day and they were horrible compared to his 61 (or 62) jazz bass, but then, with a baffled smile states how he played them on a ton of hit records 😂. He's a lovely bloke to be interviewed, so down to earth.

How could I know Traffic in 1973 in Germany, in a smaller than small town, hardly TV or Radio with this type of music. But I knew them and I was immediately a huge fan and suddenly they disappeared. And now I found them again.

Good Lord, " God's Teeth, " as the sometimes tongue-in-cheek referenced Traffic ' tour mascot ' Victor Anthony ' Viv ' Stanshall would intone with a bellicose timbre of bass-vibrating vocal gusto, here is a nugget of pure gold. God bless the German rock and soul hinterland of Europe back in the day for capturing on celluloid, and preserving this gift. To see Reebok Kwaku Bah and Chris Wood at the height of their groove and powers, Stevie blistering those frets, singing as only he is able with Jim C. and a second drummer. Anybody know who the keyboard player an other drummer are/were??? And, bass playing, as with the entire number, l'm left speechless as to how rock never really emulated the nascent wonder of this band in this performance.

The rhythm section were recruited in Muscle Shoals while Traffic were recording an album. There is a documentary in which the drummer, Roger Hawkins, described how difficult it was for a session drummer to learn how to lay back and jam - he had evidently got the hang of it by this live performance. Roger Hood bass gtr, Barry Beckett keyboards. Astounding!

I alway's felt that in some way, `Low Spark Of The High heeled Boy's'was a warm hello' , perhaps because of the line-up in the band and then a couple years after with Shoot Out At The Fantasy Factory'was a sweet sort of goodbye in terms of Steve's band. The final phase as far as in studio work was concerned I thought. `Last Exit' was in some way something unto to itself and then there came `GO'.
