Well, Bob &co spent all our money on fighting to stay in power and not on maintaining the infrastructure so..... unsurprisingly it eventually falls apart.

There is a drainage system in the whole of Harare and Zim at large but it's not maintained.

I still think Harare needs 2.5m+ diameter sized underground drainage system. I dont believe the small pipes can still cope as the city has grown i.e when it rains there is more runoff per square meter due to more built up areas (concrete and tar) compared to 50 years ago. Also consider that parts of town e.g Samora Machel where built on top of a small river being fed by nearby wetlands, so we desturbed the natural flow of water. Even if you were to liter more due to a growing population size, the larger drainage system can cope until routine maintenance is carried out to remove solid waste. Many cities around the world with 1 million plus population cope this way.

@@qhawemoyo8940 Thats 1 hell of a big project which won't happen in our lifetime. A pipe dream as they. But great observation.
@qhawemoyo89403 жыл бұрын
@@sinyoroabroad2851 It will cost millions for sure, just as Harare also needs the light urban rail system and a couple of flyovers to decongest the roads. These projects are already happening in other African Cities such as Nairobi, Dar-es-Salaam and Addis. I dont know when Harare will catch up. Even a smaller cities than Harare like Gaborone and Francistown now have road interchanges a.k.a spaghetti roads / flyovers but we haven't built any other post independence, only one was built by the Rhodesians

Leah can i ask how do u live in a country with 90% unemployment Cash and fuel shortages or is the media lying to us about Zimbabwe
@honestkariwo6163 Жыл бұрын
In Zimbabwe its hard to get formal employment but the informal sector is crazy rich ad running.... So the media focus on the formal figures of the economy. For example i am Computer Science graduate i make a better living doing what we call "Running" instead of being employed.... Running is when you assist pipo go arund activities in my case i get ad depose cellphones and laptops for people.
