Simply cut one wire going to the speaker. Then solder 1 side to pin 1 of a potentiometer and the other to the middle pin of the potentiometer

I replicated this on a breadboard but the lights are not lighting up in sequence. I have used a 100 mfd capacitor and 1k and 100k resistors with PNP 547 transistors. The bulbs are lightingg up but not in sequence
