Love his songs, "You Can Lose It", "We Just Disagree" and "Don't It Make You Wonder". Great guy.

I have seen Dave Mason in concert 102 times. Dave Mason is one of the greatest musicians of all time, but sadly, one of the most unappreciated musician of all time. Dave Mason should be in a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for his solo career. Thank you for doing this interview.

He is in. As a member of Traffic. From what I’ve read, Dave has pissed off some of the wrong people and can be difficult to deal with. I hope that I’m wrong, because he’s extremely underrated and incredibly talented.

Thank you for the Dave Mason interview. I’ve followed Dave for 50 years & so happy that he’s still rocking & he’s still got it. Love this man & his heart & talent. I can’t wait to read his book. Love his storytelling.

Dave Mason has been and remains one of my favourite musicians(for decades) I still have my Traffic albums as well as some of his solos. If I remember correctly the last time I saw him, he was live in Patchogue, New York. A good guy and I'm happy he survives. Thanks for your continued work John. All the best for you and your family in '24.

Saw Dave in the early 70s at Widner University in Chester,Pa. One of my first concerts as a teen. It was in the field house. I was standing by the stage. He was in his 20s and had long hair. He had released Headkeeper. My favorite album of his. I still have it. I also saw him twice at the Spectrum in Philly after album releases. I’m thinking he might have opened for Argent but I can’t quite remember. Always a great concert. Thanks for the music Dave.

My memory of the late 1960s and early '70s is spotty now, but if I'm not mistaken, I saw Traffic at Bill Graham's Fillmore East on 2nd Ave near East 6th St in Manhattan. At that time, Traffic was second billed. They played first, and then came The Moody Blues. I adore the Alone Together album, but another fave of mine from that Mason dude is his album with Cass Elliott. They both produced it together and released it in 1970. It's kind of a special, one-of-a-kind effort that had a few hits on it. Don't know if the hits were released as singles, but the album cuts were in frequent rotation on NYC FM stations that were hip to what was goin' on.

I understand he even loved Mark Farner's funky version of "Feelin Alright" in 1971---he and Mark have become friends--just like Mark and Eric Burdon became friends after "Inside Looking Out"

Thanks for this. I don't remember where I read ir but his falling ouut with traffic was really a falling out with steve. Dave shared this some years ago. They started out very close as brothers and came together in a common space/farm house they shared in the prefame days. When traffic first found success Dave's somg "Hole in my shoe" broke through to become a hit, then of course "Feeling Allright". They were at odds with Steves mucical direction vs Daves. I read somewhere Dave's songs recieveing greater airplay was a point of contention. Still I was really dissapointed in Steve not including Dave in the R&R hall of Fame performance. I think the closing ceremony included playing Feeling alright. I saw Dave live at Worcester Memorial Auditorium around around the time of "let it Flow" He sounded even better live..Definitely unsung greatness.. My favorite: Alone Together/ Look At You Look At Me. kzbin.info/www/bejne/g4TJcoykfpiAeMU

He didn’t write that song which is probably why he chooses Feelin’ Alright although I think We Just Disagree is the first song I think of when his name comes up.
