@@stewartw.9151 Well, I'm 68 tomorrow and at least we have it a shot. A huge group of people worked hard to try and be kinder and a little more open to change. We still have a radio station in town modeled on the old, "play anything good no matter the genre". Both old and new bands. Classic, current, hip-hop jazz, big band. It doesn't matter. If it's good, the dj susses it out and plays it. It reminds me of our old radio stations. Everyone was exposed to all music. It was truly a gift.

In Houston, fall 1971, while going to Rice University some 900 miles from home, I took a beautiful girl, a great friend of mine, to a concert: Fairport Convention; J Geils Band; Traffic. Unbelievable! Mellow, then R&R, then mellow. Peaced out, by the time we were back within the Hedges. This music triggered that deep satisfaction, so that all I needed or wanted was to sit on the couch and lovingly kiss her, my friend Kelly. Nothing was missing. Being a Hammond guy myself, a freshman, I did Find My Way Home.

What happened was hip-hop GARBAGE where totally talentless "musicians" made albums with 12-14 tunes that were all based off of ONE basic computerized drum track. Trash. You get OUT what you put IN. Many of these rap albums used ZERO real musicians, but only used samples of other accomplished artists, then plagiarizing the beat and overall sounds. That is because this industry is EVIL and has no regard for ethics or quality.
