As someone who's worked with survivors of human trafficking, that first story seems pretty accurate. A common recruitment strategy used by traffickers is to have one of the women who are being exploited make friends and recruit other women. This is a much more common strategy than a scary man snatching someone off the street.

As a survivor of trafficking. My buyers were all women and my seller was a woman. So... I instantly knew... Thankfully I was 5 and while I have severe scaring in areas I don't mentally remember much. I do know I'm scared of multiple partners and insanely scared of being left alone with a woman. I trust men completely. Especially gay men. But I will NEVER trust women.

@@hospitalcakewalk I understand your situation when 5. I too suffered by my own mother and her lesbian friend. Wo.en can traffick their children so easily. I dont trust women either. My mother was a 6ft paedophile and sex trafficked her children. It had happened to her. I didn't have children so i broke the generational chain/curse. For 1st 10yrs of my life i was used and abused. I stll get flashbacks but i am safe now. Both of them should be in jail. So i never had a mum; what i had was a nasty selfish mean violent paedo - yes women can sell their kids everyday, unlike drugs you can only sell once. When i was 12 and could no longer use me she abandoned me to state "care" just threw me away like garbage. I had a dad who i loved dearly but he left for Poona India to live in the Ashram with Osho. My mother/paedo threw him away too.

@@jenrich111 I'm really sorry to hear both of these stories...my heart doesn't break in pity it breaks for the fact that "humans" are capable of being so damn disgusting... Esp mothers! I could NEVER imagine doing that to ANYONE let alone my own children! And I'm not naive, ik this world can be cruel and I've encountered many things in my lifetime so far, but it still never makes hearing someone's story always feel and sounds like the first for me .... I sincerely hope the absolute best for you and truly do wish u absolute happiness! And just know this, karma is a real thing.... @@jenrich111, that's horrible. I don't see how anyone can do that to children, especially their own children. My mother was a single mom (her husband died young while in the Air Force) She had six of us children to raise and did her best. Every time I hear stories like these it makes me even more grateful my mom was stern, but protective, and loving. I had talks with all of my children early about being able to tell me anything, and if anyone, absolutely anyone (family, friend of family, neighbor, teacher. . .) does anything that makes you feel uncomfortable, embarrassed, ashamed, tell. Your job as a parent, especially a mom is to protect your children. I just don't understand.

I feel a 7 year old girl would be tall enough to to reach up,those stalls are kinda tall and what like an average 7 year old height? Like 4ft 2in something possibly shorter. So I can agree some manager. However depending on the person,do you think they would have used mannequin leg to make them think it was a little girl? And how could someone in management say it was the girl,unless it was the same person like they knew,walmarts got tons of managers,this really makes you think. The 2nd story was just so bazaar in my opinion. I wonder, did she realise that OP was a child? if she did then that just makes it 10 times worse. This story just had me on the edge of my seat, I thought she was going to try to touch him inappropriately or something like that. I'm glad it didn't really get as far as massages and I think that he really should have told his mother regardless. The woman needed some serious therapy. I don't get how a male child could remind her of her grow a*s adult husband. I'm glad his mother cut the woman out of their lives but still, he should have told her. The manager in the bathroom story really p*ssed me off. I think the manager actually saw in the camera that there was another person besides OP and the little girl in the bathroom. I am positive that he actually saw and possibly knows who did it or he also just doesn't care.

I get feeling pressured socially to give someone your number but you NEVER have to, nobody is ever entitled to your number and if they keep insisting do not give it to them because that’ll just be the start of your problems. Giving out your number even to escape a situation is never a good idea and often leads to worse things.

I totally agree and also have a hard time understanding the reason "why" people end up giving strangers, especially ones that make them uncomfortable, their REAL phone numbers! I have noticed that people are afraid to give a fake number to a weird stranger b/c they may try to call the number and notice it’s fake. Women especially need to learn to stand up for themselves! They CAN tell a stranger that they are NOT giving them their phone number and to leave them alone! Too many people are afraid of hurting other’s feelings OR they get intimidated way too easily by others. I understand how awkward an aggressive stranger may make a person who is alone feel but they need to learn to stand up for themselves! Let’s say this happens to someone in a Walmart. All they need to do is go to the front of the store and tell an employee or manager that there’s a person following them around and harassing them. The stranger will most definitely leave the store or mind their own business. If they DON'T, a manager won’t think twice about throwing someone out of their store! Then you can ask for an employee to walk you to your car. That’s what I would do and anyone else can do the same! 🤨👊🏼

@@robynsmith4164 no is a complete sentence. You don't even need to explain yourself to strangers. If a stranger starts acting entitled and pushy then tell them, your reaction to no is the very reason I'm not giving you my information and I have no interest in getting to know you.🤷‍♀️

It’s because little girls are taught their whole lives to be polite, don’t make a scene, don’t hurt peoples feelings, predators take full advantage. Scream, yell, act crazy. Do whatever it takes to stay safe. Don’t let yourself be a polite victim
@chopsandtoots
@chopsandtoots Жыл бұрын
@@chronic_payne5669 that's a bit of a generalization. I am a woman and never once growing up did either of my parents say that growing up. There's being polite and there's being blatantly unsafe. My mom drilled into my head to be distrustful, to make a scene, to do what you needed to do to be safe. And things that are taught in childhood can be undone, especially when it comes to common sense and safety. People raised in religious households, despite being taught a specific way for years, do not always maintain those beliefs in their adulthood. After a certain point it becomes willful ignorance.

the first story struck several bells for me. I was dropping my friend off at our work one day, at the time i lived and worked with her, but I had the day off. There were 2 men with 2 young girls, the oldest couldnt have been more than 13. i was harassing on my friend to take my order and i finally got my drink, and left to go outside. as im sitting in my car selecting the proper playlist for my ride home, one of the guys comes out. He asks me my name and number and is very persistant on hanging out with me, and is happy to include my friend. he says things like we're new around here, we need somebody to show us around, theres a lot of cops here, what time does she get off, do you want to hang out right now, when can you hang out, i got weed and alcohol, his sister babysits the girls ofc so were free to do our thing. i tell him we might have plans that night so ill let him know. he was very charismatic and i was just so caught off guard that he would approach my car that i gave him my number, and he did something really unexpected which was call me as i was right there, twice. the discomfort i felt was very subtle, but his charisma overrode that. this was also a time when my friend and i would go on snapchat and find people our age to hang out with, so being around strangers and giving them our information was just kinda something we did and we felt safe bc we were together. but i didnt want to go anywhere without her and at the time i was just thinking like oh my friends gonna be upset if i hangout somewhere without her, my safety was an afterthought. one thing to note was he never asked me my age, that was something i remember vividly, bc i kept waiting for him to ask since most dudes ask that. i just kept saying ill let him know until he ran out of things to say i guess and just kissed me on the cheek. then i drove away. i never hung out with them thankfully but the whole "new around here" and the persistence about the phone number and hanging out just struck me. now im thinking what if he trafficked those young girls? bc part of the reason i felt so comfortable talking to him was bc him or his friend took care of these kids. also the fast food place we worked at was right down the street from a walmart. i dont know if that has to do with anything but now im just sitting here stunned. does anybody have any comments to make on this?

Although moving to a total new area isn't easy. How normal people make friends is going out with coworkers finding walking clubs, try new hobbies and classes, Taking your kids to the park and talk with other mothers if you're a parent... So many more appropriate ways than stalking someone through a store and forcing yourself on them. That lady was for sure shady. Who moves outta town for a job they hardly know about!? Usually people do pretty good homework on thing's like that.

Please enlighten me, what is the butter sock cult? Brit here. Is it a American thing? 🙂

@@SillyPudding the buttersock cult is his audience and subscribers, and the buttersock itself is a sock filled with butter used as a weapon by sitcom character Sam puckett from Icarly

Not sure why I never got notified of this video, glad it popped up in my recommended list! Also, congratulations on 1 million subscribers Joel! 🥳🍾🎁🎂🎆🎇🎈🎊🎉 Edit: I lied. I did get notified. In fact, I must have fallen asleep during the first story and forgot to hit the like button when I first started listening. I probably deleted it from notification list expecting to listen to the whole thing. Haha! Listening to the rest now...

The more I hear about human trafficking and learn more about the recruitment tactics used, is the less I trust people that approach me in public. The fact that a lot of times it's women that are used to lure other women into it is just sad. I remember when I was young, one day I walking up a hill to get to my day camp and this random woman driving asked me if I wanted a ride up the hill. I politely declined, however, after hearing these stories, I can't help but wonder if she had ill intent that day.

When I was in my 20s I got stranded at the bar.. idr what happened.: but I walked home about 2 miles and everywhere I went was this weird creeper van.. I never felt so scared in my life… I knew they were looking for me! It took me more than 3 hours to walk 2 miles because I had to keep ducking in yards and bushes to hide!! It cracks me up that there are some ppl who don’t think this is real!

I have a feeling the girl in the first story was a victim herself and is being forced to meet a “quota” of “recruiting” other victims. That would explain the muscular guy following them.

Being from the UK we hardly ever have this kind of problem so we're not aware of this kind of stuff that goes on but I guess we should all be aware and teach our children to just immediately ignore strangers. It's sad though. But we just have to do that to ensure the safety of our young people.

At around story 7, this reminded me if a time I was at a bus stop, the road in front of me is near some houses so it's about 30mph this car slowed down as it passed me and came to a dtop a couple feet away from the stop. Honestly, my heart stopped, and my eyes were glued to it. The window rolled down and a man leaned out, and looked at me. Noe his car was facing away from mine so he had to crane his neck. He just stared at me for a moment and drove off. It was so bizzarre and unnerving

Dogs know. Our little jack Russell really disliked our former neighbor that had lived across the street from us. A few years later his ex wife turned him in for something that she got a notification for on her account (since he still had access to her computer accounts). She had it looked into and he’s now serving 5-10 years.
