I always considered Eve Arden the poor man's Lucille Ball. She was so talented. The show had a great cast!

Kind of a left-handed compliment, I suppose. i never cared much for Lucille Ball and her shows, but loved Eve Arden and her inimitable voice, character attitude, class, and her great line-delivery and comic timing. A real favorite. But, to each his own, correct? It's all very personal what affects our proverbial "funny bones".

I could really identify more with Eve Arden than Lucille Ball. Ms. Arden did a lot more with her acting style and delivery of her lines. She was great in the movie Mildred Pearce.

Even though I was very young, Eve Arden was my TV sweetheart. Her dialog delivery was suburb and unique. Coming in a close second was good old "Osgood Conclin". His attitudes and dialog delivery were extremely memorable. You go with what you remember. I would prefer this show over "I Love Lucy" ANY day.

one of my favorite shows in my collection of 70,000 videos i have in my collection, sadly only discovered this show in 2017, i dont know why as a kid they showed I love lucy and gilliagan everyday on tv reruns and not great shows like this, today this show is only on the Catchy channel at 2am. crazy to have the best show on tv at this time and only one channel. -thanks for sharing this video, love the cast, the talent had little equal in those days to today.

Eve Arden also did a brief stint on Bewitched as a wisecracking nurse during the birth of Tabitha in the hospital! In the 70s she also did commercials for Platex Living Bras with the distinct comment ".. honestly, it's your bra..!" to a female customer that was trying to figure out a problem with her dress! Haha!

My father loved to drive. That's how he, my mother and I spent Sunday afternoons. We listened to the radio as we cruised along, and that is how I knew Our Miss Brooks. I never watched tv and listened to the radio. Our Miss Brooks played on the radio Sunday afternoons, and I knew the voices and names of Eve Arden and Gale Gordon. It seems to me it was sponsored by L.S.M.F.T. (Lucky Strike Means Fine Tobacco). Memory is a strange device; I remember the ditty for HALO Shampoo, sponsoring MR. & Mrs. North the ALKA SELTZER ditty. and others. I was a WWII baby and I grew up during the 1940s-1950s-1960s and the radio was my main entertainment along with the movies.

I remember the series quite well. I was in upper elementary school and was able to see the program as it aired each Friday evening. Richard Crenna as student Walter Denton would come to pick up teacher Miss Brooks where she boarded at Mrs. Davis' place in return for breakfast, served by Mrs. Davis. The implication was that Miss Brooks compensated Mrs. Davis for the food consumed by Walter. He would then drive her to work in what seemed to be a pick-up truck (though it may not have been). The show would often include conversation in his car or truck. Robert Rockwell as the biology teacher Phillip Boynton did not seem at all awkward, but, rather, indifferent to amorous intentions of Miss Brooks who, in the series, was eager to marry, with her eye on Mr. Boynton. He went on to play an insurance-claim investigator for a nineteenth-century company called Blackhawk, in a program called Man from Blackhawk

Very nice, except that you missed one important cast member. Jeff Chandler was the original Mr. Boynton on the radio show, and was much better in the role than Robert Rockwell. Unfortunately, his movie studio contract didn't permit him to do television, so he was forced to leave the role when Our Miss Brooks transitioned to television.
