Seobin is not just a talented actor, but he's also a great soloist. He's a singer and songwriter and has been releasing both OSTs and his own music since 2020. He's really talented and hard working . His music is really good, I hope more people check it out. He's releasing a new album in October. His resilience is admirable. At the end of the day, it was proven that the bullying rumors are false. Someone made it up - most likely someone from the show itself - because they were envious of the positive attention Seobin was getting. Which is why people who were part of JYP are still friends with him, supporting him and working with him.

As a person who don't live in Korea i think it is ridiculous to have your career destroyed by something like smoking or underage drinking. Most of the people in my high school drank alcohol before legal age or smoke cigarettes ( I even think that most of the "youths" do or at least try that because it is a forbidden fruit). I know that they love idols for having "pure" image but in my opinion if he stopped his bad habits he should have a chance. We should judge him by his future actions not by his past. I personally found his former classmates (who were the real bullies) very callous in smearing Seobin over teenage behavior. Many kids dabble in a little bit of smoking or drinking but that doesn't make them a bad person and many kids just outgrow it. It was proven from teachers and students that he was never a bully from statements they made, and I can tell from his sweet demeanor that those classmates that smeared him were very jealous that Seobin was on his way to stardom. I hope Seobin sues them over defamation if they ever interfere with his life again in that same manor. Shame on Produce not to investigate further and instead took public opinion. I'm now so happy for Seobin that he has a rising career now in acting, music, & performing on stage.

The only thing that broke my heart about this is the heinous way Seobin was treated - the rumours that he was drinking and smoking underage is probable bad in South Korea but where I come from in Australia it’s bad but most accept it as a road towards adult hood so long as it’s not abused - people have to remember that he was young and young people do make mistakes but it is wrong for people to bring it up when he is trying so hard in his adult life. None of us can say we have never made a mistake I love Seobin and wish him all the best ❤️❤️❤️

Isn't it a sad world where unproven stories or even downright untruths can wreck a career? I wasn't aware of Seobin's early work but have enjoyed watching him in several acting roles. I cannot believe that smoking and having a drink in his mid to late teens can cause so much prudish upset. Never understand how so-called fans can be so fickle and unkind. I think a reason why this is important to talk about now, even though he is doing relatively well is that there’s a lot more awareness of how impactful rumors and k-media and public subterfuge can affect k-pop artists lives and mental health especially with the recent Suga incident. We don’t know where he would be now if this didn’t happen and the company and the show waited to substantiate the incidents. Also, he definitely seems to love singing and dancing and while he’s a wonderful and accomplished actor, it’s a shame part of his choice seemed to be taken away from him. Listening to his covers and music, you can hear how talented of a singer he is. Also, you wonder who tried to sabotage him and why. Was it because of a fan bias trying to remove the competition or a company going against the JYP front runner? Or just someone from his past looking to hurt him?

I was born in Seoul, but my parents and I emigrated to the US when I was 5 years old. Best decision my parents made. I would have been miserable as even an ordinary citizen there. I never was bullied here, but can only imagine how my life would have been hell over in Korea. I follow a few Korean YTers, mostly those who are different and not accepted in society over there. honestly, as sad as it is, he kinda dodged a bullet and bounced back very nicely. for jyp he's an item on their list they can easily discard, and if they weren't so trigger-happy and he stayed, they'd then milk him for years playing him pennies and stifled him creatively like they did with many other of their idols. i understand the culture and mentality are very difficult to overcome, but those young guys and galls should go outside the mainstream more often. niche and small doesn't mean "less than", and certainly doesn't mean "unsuccessful". it's better to have a hundred fans who know you and are loyal to you and genuinely wish you well than a hundred thousand who will turn on you on a dime, shun you and ruin you with their harassment. because, let's be honest, one of the stans' biggest weapon is their sheer number, and if this mob sets its eyes on you, you're cooked. i say, good for him. korean pop-culture is long overdue for some downsizing.
