to give this song full context, this song is about robert ortiz (etf member) saying "all ronnie did was sing about tragedy, craig(current etf singer) sings about triumph" in some sort of interview, and ronnie wrote this in prison about that. the "ten miles wide" line is a reference to the song "ten miles wide" by ETF. the "imposter" lyrics were about craig mabbitt

I didn’t follow ETF anymore after Ronnie left so when I heard this song for the first time and heard that line, I didn’t wanna jump to conclusions and assume it was about ETF. I did check out some of ETF’s tracks when I went to a Hastings (now closed down) and noticed they had a song with that title. So just you saying this made me happy. To know that after ALL THESE YEARS I was right. 😂😂

Used to be a FiR hater back in the day..found this album at the library, listened to it, hated it at the time, thought of them as posers. But this one song from it was a guilty pleasure. Popular Monster was the first thing I heard from them after that, and boy did my tune change. XD I still need to go through all the old stuff, but yeah..this, out of the whole album was the only thing that caught my attention, even as a hater, like 10 years ago or something.
