Set my V6 up in my apartment yesterday :) Hopefully going to use it this weekend in a marsh (though wetlands are still pretty much frozen edge to edge here despite a warmer than usual late winter). Great video. It made simple the already uncomplicated set up -- and I could not figure out how to collapse it easily without watching you do so here :) Thanks!

@@SuperTragopan COVID has kept me too much home; taking the blind into the mountains in a couple weeks time so rewatched parts of this video for a refresher LOL The quality of the blind is just grand. I did not in the first instance get the rain canopy, but will be doing so -- there's a point in the video where I think you say (or did I misunderstand) that it's possible to put the awning on over the vestibule/extra room (which I have) for added weather proofing for the extra room? Happy shooting!

This looks brilliant! Last time I owned a hide, it was a box shaped canvas thing with a metal frame and weighed a ton! Can it fold up with the eatra room and floor attached?
@Mi_lardon5 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the slow reply. Yes it can be folded with the room attached but best is to take of first the floor of two of the corners of the tent, it will fold up more easily.

Which material pattern did you get David. The one Espen is showing is just too bright for UK conditions imho and what % of import tax did you have to pay? I've heard UK customs include the shipping price and the goods price then levy 20% on top of which the courier can levy an additional charge for the paperwork.

I like it but the inner material looks a little shinny?
@Mi_lardon5 жыл бұрын
it looks shiny when exposed outside (which is never the case, only during the opening process), it offers full darkness inside the Hide, so it is not a problem. The roof-canopy has a black coating for this very same reason.

Doug Hogg I see in notifications that you left a comment on our recent video, but the comment is actually not showing in the feed for some reason. It's the Tetras camera backpack that I use 🙂
@Doug-xt7bn5 жыл бұрын
SuperTragopan Hi I deleted the comment as I found your video review of the backpack about 2 minutes after I asked the question. I’m looking seriously at the Tragopan range as I photograph and film pine martens, otters, eagles and deer on the west coast of Scotland when I can get back up there. I need a more upright hide as I’m disabled and getting down on the ground is very difficult- getting back up is almost impossible these days😁
@SuperTragopan5 жыл бұрын
Doug Hogg such a nice part of the world 👌🏻 I would think the Monal V2 is best suited for you then. It's the largest hide we have with 6 shooting Windows in total. You can check out a video I did on garden birds with the Monal V1 to get a feel for it.

Hi Espen I’ve one query I would like to ask, when using a net or cover on the windows of the V6 hide, I couldn’t work out how a person using a Gimbal head and having a bracket arm with a flash and using a better-beamer extending above your telephoto lens, to see any slits or zip on either of the net or separate cover you attach to the windows to allow the use of such extra wildlife photography equipment?
@Mi_lardon4 жыл бұрын
HI Dennis, i don't think such a big set up would be possible to use with any of the purposed windows. I think the best way would be to put not window and use a scarf net wrapped around the gear. All the best, Jonathan

Laurent Dorthu the V6 might be a bit small for two people to sleep in, it would be a bit tight. The Monal hide is a bit larger and could work better for two people to sleep in.

The camouflage pattern is fine, but the colors are very distracting, it doesn't seem to work in any environment. In the environment at any time of the year except winter, there is no white, and the shade of green looks completely different. The tent will be eye-catching instead of camouflaging.

@philbooth3195 жыл бұрын
Interesting design but the colour of the camouflage fabric looks dreadful. It’s far too pale and vibrant for most natural environments, could do with more muted and drab tones. Even if wildlife isn’t bothered by this, it stands out to the human eye and sadly it’s often people that will compromise or even steal/damage a hide.
@Treo805 жыл бұрын
Agreed. I've had my eyes on the bigger Monal V2, but the camo puts me off. Finnish military m05 woodland pattern would be much nicer i think.

Hi, I copy here the below answer I made to Flyersnation98 as it is similar comments : "It mostly depends where you want to use it, see following links ; @t This new camo is much more versatile and more adapted to a wider range of habitat than the previous one as well as a better compromise to be use in all season. The detectability and camouflage effectiveness of the previous camo was really bad in spring for example. The perfect camo sadly do not exist and for the moment we are not able to have the tent in various camo that would be of course the perfect solution.... But to have use this new one quite often now and in various habitat, it works really well....And add a bit of vegetation is often the best way to get it melted with the environment...."

The inside walls are reflective/silver? 🙈 Ill pass.
@SuperTragopan4 жыл бұрын
It's so that it makes for a completely dark hide and much less likely that animals will spot movements from the inside. It also makes for a comfortable temperature difference, last time I measured it was 7 degrees warmer inside the hide. Likewise when the sun is blaring down on it is cooler inside.

Looks way better in terms of functionnalities but really not fond of the new camo. Looks way too bright and is not very discreet to the human eye...
