Thank you so much Stephen, I’ve not found anybody else who demonstrate the steps so clearly as you do here. It is a huge help for me, BTW I’m Mexican and I loved the “muchos plum” part😊

The best watercolor tutorial that I've watched, and I've watched a lot lol! The way you broke it down and talked about every step and how how to approach it has given me a new starting point to improve my own painting. Thank you so much!!!

Thanks for this Steve, great tutorial - the technique of pushing the paint only one way (on the far islands) is absolute gold dust to me... been doing it wrong without realising it all his time. Cheers.

For those unaware the Glasgow-Barra plane lands on those very sands. I think it's the only airport in the world that uses a beach for a runway. Just a few hundred yards away and facing West is the beautiful Traigh Eais, which featured in the famous film "Whisky Galore."

I've never been but I'm aware of the sand runway on this beach. Thanks for your comments, Steve

Another exceptional tutorial thank you Stephen. Watching in Australia. May I ask what brand paints you use to make your plum - in particular the light red? Thank you.

Hello Jean, I'm glad you are enjoying my videos on the other side of the world. I use Cotman watercolout tubes by Winsor & Newton. Officially student quality but to be honest they are exeptionally good for the price. The light red is a little "redder" than the Professional series which tends to go grey instead of plum when mixed with ultramarine. Artist watercolours are significantly more costly and not always better in my view. You should be able to get Cotman in Australia. If you need to ask anything else, fire away. Best wishes, Steve

Hi, I use Winsor & Newton Cotman paints for all my paintings. They are "student" quality and therefore supposed to be inferior to the professional series. That is open to debate though and I think for the price they are superb. Cotman paint is available all over the world but more importantly it is abvailable on my website www.coatesart.co.uk. Colours can vary from one manufacurer to another. For example, Daler Rowney raw sienna is much darker and more "brown" than the one I use. Their yellow ochre is nearer to the raw sienna. Anyway if you want to replicate my raw sienna, you know where to get it now. Best wishes, Steve
