"Field of View" actually decrease the more you angle a camera or anything with a lens downward toward the foreground.

I set up my Vikeri trail cam several times. When I review the data it just shows me setting it up, walking away from it, and getting it after several days. It's not recording anything else. It's about 4 feet high, and I have it aimed at the street 10 feet below and about 60 feet away. The view is clear. Any suggestions. I have sensitivity at medium. Many cars drive by. Trying to catch the shmuck who is throwing Smearnoff and bud bottles and cans on my property. Also animals at night. Thanks.

Cool content, subscribed👍. I have a trail cam setup, and now have some interesting points to consider. I will try baiting with some food for the Yowies👣 (Australian Bigfoot) and see what i can get. Hoping to capture a panther, as most Australian don't believe or aren't even aware that they exist here. Thanks for the tips👌.

How does raising the camera higher and angle it down give you a wider field of view?
@knightingalesaid3 жыл бұрын
It probably puts it at a farther distance. An aerial view covers a lot more area than a ground view. Like how much field of view does an ant have verses a 6' height. Big difference. You are higher than the grass, and brush.

Its the regular, rectangular shape that seems to make a camera jump out at you...

Use a glue gun and glue some irregular shaped tree bark and/or moss to your cam and it will blend in way better.

Get a battery tester, if you have 1 weak battery, it will make all the batteries look weak. Not all batteries will be equal especially after a few weeks. If I have doubts about a camera, I remove the batteries and test each, replace the weakest battery, the rest will do better.

Bait should be spread around and not piled up.

I don't think that was a good place to put you trail cam hiding in the trees like that. I did that at my sisters farm and got nothing but the wind blowing the trees and setting off the cam, hundreds of videos of nothing.

Any trail/game camera video explanation such as this needs to state to always "chose quality" camera mfg's over price. Most do the opposite and use the dummy way and pick "price over quality" and then ramble on and on about how they were duped by the brand of camera they bought on every forum and KZbin channel they can find. Mid grade cameras like the one you had in your hand won't last 2 years running 24-7 365 days a year. Many people don't use them except just before the hunting season and during. The camera sitting idle for months even with the batteries out, usually tanks out when called upon after just a couple years. I pity those who buy the cheaper than mid grade cameras and expect the world over from them. Buy a camera that's made exclusively in the USA and not some mega beltline made of the same junk with a different brand name on it from China. The cameras are cheaply built and the internal components on the circuit boards are low grade electronics. "Knowledge is Power" in this hobby, save your money and buy one that won't be on the landfill mountain in 2 years. You know the best brand out there but, many are too cheap to invest in that brand or hang it in the woods because of trail camera thieves running amuck. keep spending hundreds every couple of years then, when you could've had the best from the jump.

Who are you talking too? You keep facing away from the camera. Are you talking to the KZbin viewer,,or somebody else that we cannot see? Seems stupid to video that way? What is the purpose? Look at the camera! Or do you just think you look better from the side?

"High quality batteries!" And you use non lithium or dont use a 12v battery box 🤦♂️ great way to contradict yourself.
