Trail of the Snail & A Lost SpongeBob Ad

As we review the game Trail of the Snail, based on the SpongeBob SquarePants episode Have You Seen This Snail?, we look back on some haunting memories I have related to this episode. Most notably the one about a haunting advertisement I saw at a very young age. Did it really exist? Eh, maybe.

Man, if I had seen this video sooner I would’ve been like “I REMEMBER THAT AD TOO” but now it’s already been found lol. When I first watched it I didn’t even realize it was SpongeBob’s voice until they showed him at the end. When I saw the episode I recognized the image of SpongeBob from the commercial when he said “I can’t find Gary” and the audio of him saying “Gary” after reading Gary’s letter. I also remember that the night it aired, I was at my grandma’s house. I also remember the flash game later on, so this has been a nostalgia trip for me.

Oh man I thought it was just me Seeing a ad like that Where the spot light was moving around looking for Gary but in my memory SpongeBob voice was calling for Gary and Gary was moving around so there was movement noises and the spot light was moving to where the noises might of been and in the end instead of finding Gary the spot light stoppeds on the were is Gary logo and the lights turn on

I remember playing this game as a kid. I was never able to beat it. Also, that’s a cute poodle/doodle. I love her haircut.

I do rememeber that commercial, least a small detail. Near the end of it, we see Spongebob mutter a soft 'Gary' and then Gary says his classic 'meow' as we see the nickelodeon logo (I think it was one of their logos at least). Glad you took a look at this little game. It was silly how they recolored literally all the characters to make matching them easier and it did well in advertising the game! It wasn't the best Spongebob Flash game, but it was a bit fun and interesting at least.

I don't think I remember the commercial, but I can picture that in my head. I picture a smaller version of myself watching it in horror on TV, as my childhood icon desperately searches for his pet snail. There's something scary about seeing a character like SpongeBob in distress like that.

Trail of The Snail is easily one of the most fun and memorable Spongebob games for me, along with the Pokemon Snap Plankton game and a few others
