That was a great video. My wife and I have been full time now for about 8 months. We’re from colorado and have been to Rocky Mountain National Park to many times to count. It is still one of my favorite parks to hike and fish.

My family of 4 used to vacation in Estes Park every couple of years. One year we decided to go through the park early, drive to Grand Lake, and turn around back to Estes Park. We got to the Alpine Visitor Center and it was about 60. We were wearing jeans and t-shirts, and were carrying sweat shirts. A lot of families were there in muscle shirts, bikini tops, fashionable hiking shorts (not for real hiking), and sandals. A lot of them seemed to think we were "overdressed". About 10 minutes in, a cloud came over, the temperature dropped about 40 degrees, and the snow started. Lasted about 10 minutes, then the sun came back out and everything warmed up rapidly. My family and the rangers had a good laugh at the tourist.

Regarding the fire damage, you have to remember that the long-term and sustainable health of a coniferous forest is highly dependent on naturally occurring fires. Several species of coniferous trees depend on fire for their cones to release their seeds, and fire clears out the underbrush, allowing the coniferous seeds released from cones by fire to grow. Not all of the parent trees die, but the trees that do die eventually fall to the forest floor, and their organic material enriches the soil for a new cycle of forest growth. As heartbreaking as it is to see hundreds and thousands of acres devastated by fire, keep in mind these forests have been in place for hundreds of thousands of years before humans were around and fire is a natural, normal, and very necessary part of their life cycle. Like phoenixes, new and stronger, healthier forests arise from the ashes. Our own human life spans are too short to usually see the complete regeneration process. You two should visit Mt. St. Helens and see a forest in the process of regeneration...and really, how quickly the process goes.

If you ever get back there, take a look at driving Old Fall River Rd. It's a one way gravel rd with many switchbacks. We have done it on our motorcycle and our truck. It goes from near Estes Park to the Alpine Visitor Center.

I’m originally from Greeley, CO! Used to travel this road a lot!! Gorgeous! Did you have your bear spray? You should take Lucille up to the top of Pikes Peak, that’s 14,??? feet! We are heading to Glacier National Park in August and cant wait, we have ridden there from Seattle WA area several times, but will be first August trip for us, hoping to ride from east to west through St. Mary entrance, have tried a few times over Memorial Day weekend but pass closed due to snow. Loved it! My Grandpa was an Indian dealer back in New York in the 20s, I believe. Glad to see their comeback. Question: why did the sign say no umbrellas? I didn't see any RVs on this road. Not recommended?

The highest point of trail ridge road is not 11,500 ft, but just short of 12,200 ft. And treeline is about 11,200 ft.

On a memorable motorcycle ride we stopped at a scenic overlook about half way and were approached by a guy driving a van. He said, "My wife is freaking out at the road and I only have about 1/8 tank of gas. Is there anything near here?" They may be divorced by now.

Trail Ridge is one of my favorite rides. Only 120 miles from our house. As for the fire, it's not tragic other than it should have happened years ago. Fire is part of our ecosystem that was deemed evil. Just look at parts of Yellowstone for the rejuvenation of the forest.

Kind of jealous - I just sold my 05 Wing (it was causing shoulder and hip issues) but picked up an 11 Victory Cross Roads, but I haven't been able to take it out on any jaunts yet to enjoy it (and yes, I test road a Vic and found that I had zero of the previous problems). Love seeing you guys out on Lucille!

The Fall River Road goes from the west side of the park to the Alpine Visitors Center and would be a terrific ride on your motorcycle. My vehicle was too long for the road but I took iy anyway. Several times, I could not make the corner and had to stop, back up, and pull forward again. it was even better than Trail Ridge Road! A motorcycle would be the ideal way to see it. (By the way, it is a one way road, going from west to east.)

Beautiful ride ! Makes one appreciate how great our country is; that and self adjusting fuel injection. We rented a Road Glide around 10 years ago to go from Wheatridge to Cripple Creek It was running hot and gasping for air more than we were !

I LOVE Trail Ridge Road!! I haven't been there since the fire. It looks a lot different than last time I was there. We've only driven over that road in the truck. I bet it was completely different on a motorcycle.

Absolutely a beautiful park. The first 25 miles are switch backs but not a problem but then we you start going up above the tree lines and there are no guard rails and a 6k drop it’s white knuckling. But then we were foolish to go down ver with a 26 ft travel trailer pulled by a 2500 Ram. Not our choice but got stuck between two fires and it was the only way to Estes Park. In other word don’t do it😂😂😂

I did this ride back in the late 70"s and back in the day the carburetors didn't compensate for altitude real well. We were going up the mountain and getting into a 20mph curve and the bike was loading up so I dropped a couple of gears and cranked the throttle. We were probably doing 20 but sounded like 100 as we rounded the curve and there were some road workers there, they scattered probably thinking some crazy biker was blasting through and going to hit somebody. It was pretty funny! They waved when they actually seen how fast we were going. An absolutely wonderful ride on a motorcycle.

Nice video, took me back, we rode our bike through there as well. Can't believe there wasn't any snow, thought they had it all the time there. I don't know if you have ever tried ear plugs while wearing the half helmets but make a big difference, drowns out the air noise and actually makes it easier to hear someone behind you speaking. Glad you enjoyed your ride, looks fun. If you don't mind me asking, I just installed the Reese M5 hitch on our '22 Ford F350. It's the 27k hitch, and for the life of me, can't figure out where the 3rd bolt goes. I see the hole on top of the other 2, but can't get bolt in it. I'm using the middle holes on each side.

Chad, question about your bike. I’m in the market for a bagger. I wanted a Street Glide but the deal I lucked up on went south. I started looking at Indians and have fallen in love with the Chieftain Dark Horse (all black). I’m not familiar with Indian outside of what I can see on the outside. Do you have any regrets in buying your bike or would you do it again? Do they hold their value like Harleys?!? How’s their customer service? Anything else I need to know? Thanks!!

Great video! We stayed at River Run the last two summers and love it. If you don't have a motorcycle and want a great experience on Trail Ridge Road you can rent a SlingShot in Grand Lakes for a fun over and back on TRR.
