Silly bear. Good on you for listening to your gut and on freya for not freaking out when she smelled it (because how could she not!?). Good trail vlog! And great example on how to handle these situations!

Wow those bear sightings especially if solo sure raises ones heart rate and level of concern. You handled it well and made all the right designs. Glad you are safe. Perhaps a can of bear spray added to your pack is a good plan for solo treks. Love, Uncle Bob

Hey Uncle Bob! I carry bear spray on every run, I just don't necessarily want to use it. Thank you for watching!

Hey Sarah. It’s me. Mike the Medtech. New subscriber here. Also just got back to doing trails again. My wife and I started slow just a few miles at a time in Auburn. I enjoyed watching your run. But damn that bear will scare me. Be safe on your run.

Hi Mike! Auburn is a great place to run! There is an awesome race down there called "No Hands Trail Run", it takes place in January. It's a beautiful course and they have distances ranging from 8k (~5miles) to 50K (~32 miles), if you and your wife want to try a race, that event is a fun one to begin with. Hope you're both doing well!

You def did the right thing. I'm in AK and have had many bear encounters. Listening to your gut in a situation like that is the smartest thing you can do. That bear was 100% either guarding something or pondering whether to do something sketchy.

Thank you for your validation, I honestly felt silly the following day.

The bear seemed very mellow. Was it Marijuana Bear ?
