Suzy It makes me wonder how the mum and dad ever hooked up. If it’s their home and not a vacation spot, they he should EXPECT bears there and take precaution. He should have made the child stay quiet and restrain/ remove the dog. Then weigh up the losses vs pros. Either he make the bests go from the outset or stay quiet. There is no danger. He should tell his family how cute this is but explain that moma bears are vicious if anyone approached the cubs.

the children cared more about possibly losing their material things than the awsome miracle of nature and seeing real bears in their backyard . when i was a kid i would have thought that seeing the bears was way cooler than not losing one of my toys . their mom should have immediately used that moment as an opportunity to teach her kids that their toys are just material things that can be replaced but seeing the bears up close like that was something that they would rarely see in their life .

I didn't hear the Dad offer to step up and do anything but point out possible negative repurcussuons. Calling animal control at that point was probably a wise idea if the Mama bear was getting too comfortable, as they get very aggressive when they have cubs. She was looking out for everyone. From her deep sigh I bet she does a lot of damage control by softening Dad's negativity.

Well sir, I totally appreciated the video, but having the ability to use my vision, my hearing and my brain I am able to not only be like the mother and enjoy the sight of the beautiful creatures enjoy the pool but understand how the Dad puts a negative spin on the event. The pool may or may not be damaged but a critical thinker would know that it’s too late to worry about any possible damage to the pool and see the opportunity to help the children make it a memorable and positive experience. Which is exactly what the mother was doing. I am glad the dad stopped and mom continued to point out the joy.

I live in the mountains, and I truly feel honored whenever our animal neighbors choose to spend time in our yard. In a typical year, 90% of our vegetable garden is eaten by the deer and elk, and they leave giant droppings everywhere they walk. The bears, coyotes, and foxes devour any food we leave out for the feral cats. I wouldn't trade it for anything! They were here for millennia before we arrived.

@@highviewbarbell I have also been pleased to learn that animals will eat food that we would have normally thrown away. We don't eat strawberries that have a little fuzz/mold on them, but the animals are thrilled to have it. Most animals are also happy to have stale bread or tortillas. The law forbids us from feeding most wild animals, but if I put out food for the birds and squirrels, I can't help it if the deer and elk eat the same food.

@@vizzini2510 Most 'don't feed the wild animals' stuff is about direct hand-feeding. Animals (especially large and temperamental animals) that get too accustomed to a human directly providing them food may react violently if later denied food. A critter finding a snack on the ground? That's fine. A critter getting fed a snack by a human? Not so fine. What you're doing is not a problem since the animals think either a) they just stumbled upon a bit of good food or b) they cleverly stole from a human who didn't protect their food well enough.

Yes and the fact that she was excited to see them is proof that there are still good people in the world her kids and her husband on the other hand they need to realize that people pay money to go to the zoo to see these animals all caged up but to see him in nature or out in just the wild or you know yeah I get you don't want them in your backyard but the fact that you get to see 5 baby bears and one adult is really cool people need to start appreciating the little things I think sometimes we get so focused on the negatives of life that we forget that there are so many positives so many good things out there that we haven't even experienced I've seen three bald eagles on the side of the road eating at carcasses now I've seen bald eagles in a nest baby bald eagles I've seen some pretty amazing animals out there and all you have to do is just look it's kind of cool

There is a very real possibility that two or three of the cubs are adopted. If they were orphaned there are some mothers who would allow them to join her brood.
