REALLY excellent vid! I caught a virus camping with a group a couple of weeks ago and accidentally gave it to "The Wife". That went over well! The Midland radio is most likely transmitting in narrow band which makes it sound very quiet to radios that are using wide band. Depending on the model of Midland this might be something you can change. The retevis radio most likely has "privacy" codes (DCS or CTCSS) turned on. Retevis does this by default and if the other radio doesn't have the same code set they can hear you but you cannot hear them. You would need to turn those codes off.

I liked the beach at that first spot. That looked like a great site if that cabin is unoccupied. My friends and I just got home from a six day camping trip last week. We found one nice spot, posted up for all six days and spent each day at the beach. End of winter, first real week in the sun. Maybe not enough Adventure. But it reset everybody's clocks. Practicing the Fine Art of Doing Nothing.
