Very solid review that covers a lot in a short time This is one of my favourite games (200+ games of it this year) but I think a lot of the criticisms are fair. I mostly play solo, but will occasionally play with 2-4p, never more, mostly because of table space.

I was going to go in on a preorder or kickstarter of this game but then I realized: I've already own enough multiplayer solitaire tile layers (or I could also say "private puzzle" games) Calico Cascadia Akropolis Evergreen Tiny Towns I definitely want to try Trailblazers but it will take some convincing for me to go out and buy a copy. But for anyone reading who is new to the hobby, I have no doubt that if you don't already have a bunch of "samey" games like i do, you can't go wrong with Trailblazers.

@@paulhamrick3943 I will say I have not played Evergreen or Akropolis, but have played the others: trailblazers offers something more than the other “private puzzle” games, it offers a very flexible system which makes playing it feel more creative, but also a more challenging puzzle making that creativity feel necessary and rewarded. I am extremely biased, I played the game 200+ times this year and volunteered to demo it at pax, but if you’re willing to listen to my opinion, I think you’ll have a great time with this game. It’s also super cheap to get the pocket edition, you don’t really need the expansions or the animal meeples. I have since sold Calico and Cascadia (I never owned tiny towns, but played quite a few times)
