And it sounds like he really is confident in his shot which is huge. Guys like Ben Simmons can hit threes in practice but they aren‘t confident in their shot so they don‘t take them in game
@jeremyb58626 ай бұрын
@@ezypeazyy i dont like to be that guy but he's not gonna be able to knock down 3s efficiently in this league until many years of training, people talking about his shooting form and him taking 3s...man the guy shot 50% from the FT line in college, if you can't make your freethrows you're going to struggle from range that's just a fact. the NBA is too talented and we don't have good shooters already, it's gonna be hard for him to even have good looks especially since he is also not that mobile.
@ezypeazyy6 ай бұрын
@@jeremyb5862 i‘m not expecting him to be a good shooter from day 1 but a major part of shooting is confidence and he seems to have it. You‘re right about the FTs being an indicator though
@jeremyb58626 ай бұрын
@@ezypeazyy that's actually a really good point, confidence in your own shot and the confidence of the training staff are some of the most important factors for shooters, it doesn't get talk about often. also willingness to take shot at a higher volume is more valuable to a team than efficiency because it affects how teams will cover you a lot more. we both hoping for the best about him, i just don't want everyone to over sell it.

@@KOrnhOliO1 I was interested in the comments in the press conference about how the Blazers were pleased and surprised that Clingan has a nice outside shot, that he was never asked to do within the UConn system. That has been some of the criticism with this pick, but if he can be an occasional reliable 35% 3 point shooter, then this pick goes beyond good into a steal, and gets back to when he was projected as the number 1 pick.
