TRAILER GEARBOX FOR THE WIN!!!

Hey gill, I put a 1/2 socket right over jack handle, drilled thru socket, got a nut and bolt, went thru existing hole for jack handle . I use a 1/2 drill ! Best little modification I ever did. Especially having multiple trailers.

What you use to drill through socket because the ones i have my impact nor regular drill is working and yes I'm doing it with a metal bit

@@Ardentscapes use a bench vise, using a center punch to get a point starting on socket, and any metal drill bit will work. Dewalt 1/2” drill is what I used. No problem.

Looks like a nice addition! I suppose the removable feature is also good for the harsher environments (salt) and also adds another element of theft deterrent for the trailer as well

Nice touch especially for us older guys, anything to keep us working. Will you add another tube to the other lug for more stability?

This single tube is more than enough and is plenty sturdy.

All that and tou could have welded a nut on there and used your impact. Fun fact make it the same nut size as your lugnuts so you can always change a tire.

That could work. I have tried it but its just way to hard on the drill. Impacts would eventually chew up the gears in the Jack. Is this trailer gear box needed?...no, But it is certainly nice to have and is easy on the drills.

How well does it work with max load on the trailer

Haven't tried max load. Im sure it would do fine on the high torque setting.

@@gillpecceuservices I mean no disrespect, but you could just get an adapter for the end and put a low speed drill on or high torque impact. My 1200 ft lb works great and together they were still $75 cheaper than that

​@@drewburgess8097 There is a 5 year warranty with the aluminum cased Gearbox. It can be swapped between trailers or left on the trailer.

It works great for me. Worth it for my money I spent. I can't say its worth it for everybody. Lots of other products out there.
